Hey guys!! The 2008 Battle of the Bands at the Salem Library will be happening in December.

Applications for competing in the battle are available now via the library website at www. salemlibrary. org.

This is an awesome opportunity to get your music heard. The battle takes place in our state-of-the-art auditorium that seats 285 people, has a rockin' sound system, and intelligent lighting.

We have sold this concert out for the past three years!!!

It costs nothing to apply. We just need your application and a demo CD of your music (it has to be all original songs). We're looking for all types of music - rock, blues, jazz, hip-hop, acoustic, etc.

The winner gets their own 90-minute, fully produced, showcase concert in April. The concert will be recorded live.

Applications are due by Oct. 31, so get on it quick.

I miss you all. More my fault than yours - I know you've been to Eugene since I've seen you. But hey, regardless of fault - I miss your music. I picked up Whiskey Priest somewheres, I know that much.

The reason I thought of you today. I picked up the new Nada Surf. Sounds SO good. A lot of great new releases out today and some on the horizon (Super Furry Animals, Bob Mould, Kelley Stoltz, Nada Surf, Eric Matthews).

You should come by the show some Friday. I mean it. best to you and everybody.

Hey gang!
The Grey Effect will be playing a small (scaled back) show at Steam Heat in Keizer (by Gold's Gym) this Sat. 1/19 from 8-10 p.m. This is an all-ages show with a small door charge (that goes to the band). Come and hang out by the fireplace and chill out with TGE and the family!
