Artist Statement

“Tributaries” , is a series of images that investigates the central figures in my life.
These images offer insight into each individual in hopes to shed a glimpse into my fascination of them. The sepia tone that is digitally placed on the images was used to create an an atmosphere of quiet warmth, which is all captured using a 4X5 camera. Each portrait represents someone in my life who has had an influence on shaping the person I was to become. While the influences were not all positive one can see how a personality is born from an assembly of interactions with people. Innovative photographers such as Richard Avedon , Julia Margaret Cameron , Edward Weston , Nadar , Duane Michaels , and Luis Gonzalez Palma have played a great role to giving my work direction.
