"He Bought Me a Soda and He Tried to Molest Me in a Parking Lot!"

Volume 2!

Last year the first volume of this "collection of illustrations inspired by lyrics from those songs that get stuck in your head all day" was a great success and people had a lot of fun interpreting their favourite lyrics!

You can download the first volume as a free pdf here:

http://www.soundofdrowning.com/soda1.html

So the time seemed ripe for a Volume 2!

The specs are the same; artwork should be A5 300 dpi. As well as a limited
edition artbook of the project there will also be another free pdf of the book, which has been downloaded by a good thousand people so far.

So give vent to those earworms and get sending those submissions to the contact details on this page:

http://www.soundofdrowning.com/Contact.html

Deadline is April 1st and I'm really looking forward to seeing this years entries!

M'selle Lou's cyberspace is looking most interesting! I very much like the illustration (I think by your good self?) on the contact page. I am still on bed rest alas! But I am taking this most opportune moment to write another book for Madame Lulu.com. This time is about the virtuousness of sweet vocalising. Now, Bart, I must away as my char-lady has made me a wonderful cup. Regards, Baroness Burrow.

Yo Bart!!
Further to your kind reading of my E-book, I have taken on board the need to pass the pages through the Spelling/ Grammer Tool, and it is now mistake-free!
Thinking of publishing another book of my paintings/art...what do you think, kind sir?
Regards,
Deborah

BRFXXCCXXMNPCCCCLLLMMNPRXVCLMNCKSSQLBB11116 (PRONOUNCED /’AL,BIN/) WAS A NAME INTENDED FOR A SWEDISH CHILD WHO WAS BORN IN 1991.

THE BOY'S PARENTS HAD PLANNED NEVER TO LEGALLY NAME HIM AT ALL, AS A PROTEST TO THE NAMING LAW OF SWEDEN (NAMNLAG (1982:670)), WHICH READS:
“ FIRST NAMES SHALL NOT BE APPROVED IF THEY CAN CAUSE OFFENSE OR CAN BE SUPPOSED TO CAUSE DISCOMFORT FOR THE ONE USING IT, OR NAMES WHICH FOR SOME OBVIOUS REASON ARE NOT SUITABLE AS A FIRST NAME. ”

BECAUSE THE PARENTS (ELIZABETH HALLIN AND AN UNIDENTIFIED FATHER) FAILED TO REGISTER A NAME BY THE BOY'S FIFTH BIRTHDAY, A DISTRICT COURT IN HALMSTAD, SOUTHERN SWEDEN, FINED THE PARENTS 5,000 KRONOR (US$682 AT THE TIME). RESPONDING TO THE FINE, THE PARENTS SUBMITTED THE 43-CHARACTER NAME IN MAY 1996, CLAIMING THAT IT WAS "A PREGNANT, EXPRESSIONISTIC DEVELOPMENT THAT WE SEE AS AN ARTISTIC CREATION." THE PARENTS SUGGESTED THE NAME BE UNDERSTOOD IN THE SPIRIT OF 'PATAPHYSICS. THE COURT REJECTED THE NAME AND UPHELD THE FINE.

THE PARENTS THEN TRIED TO CHANGE THE SPELLING OF THE NAME TO A (ALSO PRONOUNCED /’AL,BIN/) INSTEAD. ONCE AGAIN, THE COURT DID NOT APPROVE OF THE PARENTS' IDEAS FOR NAMING.

EAT, v.i. To perform successively (and successfully) the functions of
mastication, humectation, and deglutition.
"I was in the drawing-room, enjoying my dinner," said Brillat-
Savarin, beginning an anecdote. "What!" interrupted Rochebriant;
"eating dinner in a drawing-room?" "I must beg you to observe,
monsieur," explained the great gastronome, "that I did not say I was
eating my dinner, but enjoying it. I had dined an hour before."

Hey Bart,
Video is now uploaded, as threatened. Will eventually get the hang, no doubt. It's odd though, showing a creature which moves 'with its own organs'.
Best for now,

Hey Bart,
Many thank yous for, as they say, 'the Add'. Yes as a member of that duo available for hire the Derz, also the motivator of the ragged EDGE website and publisher of the magsheets I can say it is a pleasure to salute the ecologically-sound agent. While you enjoy your Arhoolie I shall imbibe a pint or two of the old and filthy.

I must say i do not approve of your liking of Shostakovich, i always felt that he was a poor imatation of Mahler with an unhealthy preeocupation with his own mortality. I much prefer the soothing melodys of Brahms. Ah yes, the bass guitar, you corectly identified its piscine origins as it is believed the first instruments which had the same range of wat now call the bass guitar was infact made of parts of the sword fish skeleton strung with fibres made from sinews found in sea bass. This is at least one explanation for the developement of what is now an almost indespensible part of and, 'popular' music playing ensemble.
