Faldingworth Live

Hi Chris and Julie
I enjoyed the interview with Melvyn Prior on Radio Lincolnshire. I was rather surprised as I got into the car and turned Radio Lincolnshire on, not expecting to hear your voices on there.
Looking forward to next year when you come to Faldingworth Live in Lincolnshire.

David Franks: Walkabout…

(Hi: enjoyed my visit.)
After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace...
Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse
(please see my blog):
WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN
Once drove an old sedan, up north,
From a place in Sydney to Cairns;
Then to Kuranda I went forth,
By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market,
With fresh fruits of tropical kind;
Walked to the creek through lush thicket -
Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe;
Then, outside, as I wrote for yen,
Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey,
You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know -
Assured voices, elderly men.
That’s now several years ago,
And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.

Ladies, your performances on the weekend were impeccable (as always).
When we spoke after the final show, I forgot to mention to Julie that the netball captains all peaked in their school years- they don't turn up at school reunions because it was downhill all the way for them. The "late bloomers" who get better as they get older turn up because their lives have all turned out well and they're happy to share it. If you ever get to your school reunion, you'll be the cool one and every one will want to be on your team (just not for netball-a stupid game anyway!)
I'm already looking forward to seeing you again in 2011

Alien Left Hand -- What the critics say:
“…an album fizzing with fresh ideas and delights, an exhilarating musical journey .. with brilliantly original writing and inspired playing…” -- Helen Mayhew
"At last a follow up to Janette Mason's sparkling debut as leader. Alien Left Hand ....was well worth the wait…” Production **** Performance**** -- BBC Music Magazine
"Every track from the rhythmic ‘NY Cab Ride’ and restless ‘4 Wheel Drive’ to the brooding ‘Mae’s Song’ has a terrific hook but it’s the way Mason switches tempo and moods that makes ALH great fun." -- Diva Magazine

Hello Chris & Julie, first an apology - I was the one who accidentally turned on the house lights at the Buddle Art Centre, Wallsend during your performance. You were still the only shining lights in Wallsend that night. I still think 'Love Is An Abandoned Car' is a superb song (and should have been covered by an American country superstar). Great to see you on myspace.

Poem 76 of 230, walkaboutsverse.741.com: LAND RIGHTS
If there is a good thing
From the Second World War
It’s that most peoples learnt
To conquer lands no more.
In Africa, Asia,
And the Pacific, too:
Post-war independence -
Steps only bigots rue.
But for some indigenes,
Outnumbered much-too-much,
It has all come too late
For liberty, as such.
So ‘tis in Australia,
And America’s sites,
Where the best now, I think,
Is to respect land rights.
