I Bike MCR Fesitval

Friday 28th March
6pm Central Library Critical Mass Bike Ride

Festival Opening Party (everyone invited!!!):
8pm - 3am Cafe Saki (opp EBC, Wilmslow Road)

Bands:

7 Hertz ("folk, jazz, free improv, punk and just plain odd")

Al Baker ("Radical folk singer extroadinaire")

Egészségedre (Amazing Gypsy Ska band from Leicester)

DJ's from Pick Your Own and Longshot PLUS... Bicycle visuals, bike games, slow race.

Bicycle Treasure Hunt

Saturday 29th March 3pm SHARP at Urbis Gardens

A 3 hour challenge on bikes to get the most points by cycling to different points in the city or completing certain tasks from the sheet given on the day. You get a list of tasks with an assigned number of points for each one. BRING digital camera/camera phone, bag, pen, paper, map of Manchester... oh and a bike.


It doesn't matter how fast you are or whether you're riding a shopper or a carbon fixie...points are won with cleverness and creativity...plus theres lots of winners inc.
the child with most points, most points for person in best fancy dress etc etc

who's a taurus? (in response to last comment) lowriders are the easiest thing in the world to ride. i would rate riding one easier than falling down stairs even if it was a total accident and you got pushed.


if i get a welder does anyone want any custom work doing including paint jobs?

The planning for the I Bike MCR Festival 2008 is well underway. It's about 5 months away which might seem like a long time but we want to give you the opportunity to get involved nice and early.


As part of the I BIke MCR festival we are hosting the I Bike MCR Bike Polo Tournament and are inviting bicycle polo teams from around the country and also want to start more teams in our lovely city.


We invite you to join us at our regular practices in Manchester to help support you get a team together. We hope to get every bike shop and bike group in Manchester to enter a team in the tournament.


We can do a first session with you, just let us know a Saturday you can do pref 2pm to 4pm and we'll meet you, show you the ropes and lend you some mallets to get you started.


We only ask you to bring a bike you don't mind getting a bit battered and lots of enthusiasm!

So have a chat with the people you work/ride with, get 4 people together (4 make a team or 8 or 12- if you want more than one team) and email us with a couple of dates you'd like us to run through your initial guidance session.


After that you're very welcome to come practice with us if you like or you could just practice with your team.
