I want to thank Magic Dirt for the great gig & tribute to Dean @ annandale recently. It was such a powerful & emotional performance. What happened to Dean is so tragic and my heart goes out to the band & his family & friends. He will be greatly missed. I think the gig was a great way to celebrate Dean's life & musical achievements. Thanks again xox

It was such an honour to help celebrate the life of Dean at the Annandale show. He was such a champion & as the applause suggested - he was much loved.

Thank you for coming & playing that show. It was the most beautiful - noisey - touching - intense - passionate shows I've ever had the pleasure of attending. & to dance the night away on stage during I Wanna Be Your Dog was just too cool for words.

Unfortunately to my hectic schedule I missed out on the Adelaide Gag. Props to Dean but his spirit along with Adalita and crew really ignited a flame in me in 2000. nothing is worse when u are dead inside after I was bullied out of Uni by the  HFK  terrorist group. Your music inspires me not to accept handover tactics and letting ppl holding me down. keep rocking, mp01juve

The biggest thankyou for finding the strength to rock it last night. An excellent tribute to a wonderful guy. As you said in your address Adalita, the fans are grieving too and I think that last night was an excellent way to help to honour someone I met only a few times who had a huge impact on my life and who was utterly inspiring. Yet another awesome gig at the corner guys... Was probably my most emotional one in a very long time.. From a single faceless bass player to guitar hung on a wire, it was a fitting tribute to a great musician..

Cant remember the first time I saw you guys... think it might have been at the basketball centre down in geelong at a push over or something like that.. god, it was another time and we've all got a little bit longer in the tooth.. but the attitude hasn't changed much and if the motto is that 'its all about the music' then you guys are definately true to that..

I never knew Dean.. not personally anyway.. hell, I dont know any of yas.. but I love ya music.. always have.. and I think the man would be proud as punch with what you guys continue to do... Ya F.ing rock!!
And I wish you all the best with the rest of the tour..

Befitting entrance, awesome set. As ya'll entered tonite I had to hide behind a pillar, only for a mome tho. Somethin' 'bout those low freq feedback loops that loosened and sent a sphere of brine running silver-quick down my cheek...

Thought it could never be the same without Dean; that was until tonite. It wasn't the same, but it also was. Every time I see you guys at the Corner you've changed in some way... Lil' differences; new material, longer hair, upbeat, downbeat, sideburns here and gone, fresh sweat, old heads, and so on. And tonite felt like a progression, and it felt good; like old leather.

Dean inspired and drove me to go home and belt those four strings until they howled in submission (and rebellion a lot of the time) for years. Inspiration is the greatest gift anyone can bestow upon another. I hope y'all continue to inspire, anyway you can, for another decade and a half or so more like you did tonite.

i don't even know how to start. I can't wait to see you all at the 'Dale - but it will be without Dean - which will be the first time ever I've seen you guys at the ' Dale without him. so it will be true sadness with true admiration and happiness (mixed feelings i guess) to just rock out and make THE most of the amazing music you all made together...  love the dirt, can't wait. I will be up front with the camera!!!

That is lovely that there is a tribute show to Dean.  He was a great musician and gave so much of himself to help others despite his own challenges.   I still have photos I took of the times I saw you play in Perth and met you 3 times.  He will be always remembered.

amazing show at the gov. absolutely honoured to be part of the audience last night. thanku all. an intense evening which wont be forgotten. the tears are slow to dry but you did dean proud and i can only imagine how difficult that gig was. forever in our hearts, souls and ears ; ) all the best with the rest of the tour.

Hi Magic Dirt, our thoughts are with you on this tour...we played with you at the Gambier Hotel in Mt Gambier along with The Midnight Parasites, really appreciated the privilege, thanks again. Wish we could come to Casterton to see you guys but we have a gig on here the same night, believe it or not we're playing with The Midnight Parasites again, what a coincidence! They would've come to see you too.

My wife has just run the cancer gauntlet and come through. It messed us up somewhat and having kids is even harder. There are no words that can comfort anyone in times like this. Just action....You guys will always be a great band and he will always be part of the band so get out there and keep going.

I only heard the news last night about Dean, and I was extremely saddened and surprised.   I have seen Magic Dirt many times when they toured Perth, you may remember meeting my husband and I on several occasions after the shows.   Magic Dirt is one of my favourite bands, it was great to meet all of you, you are all lovely people.   I remember Dean as being quite reserved and a lovely person to meet, but I would have never known he was battling this terrible condition for this long.   He is a brilliant musician and gave it his all on stage.   I still have Dean's message he sent me on myspace after I asked if Magic Dirt were touring soon.  I unfortunately missed the last show to my regret. 

My sincere condolences go out to Dean's family, Adalita, Raul, Adam and his many friends.  He will be deeply missed.
