TEN GOLDEN RULES FOR MYSELF
1. I should give myself the same care and attention as I give others.
2. I am not an endless ‘resource’ for others, I must stock up on ‘reserves’ and not get too drained.
3. I have needs to which may be different from my family’s, my friends or my colleagues.
4. I do not have to say ‘yes’ to all requests – or feel guilty if I say ‘no’.
5, The ‘perfect’ parent, partner, child or career person does not exist – the ‘good-enough’ one does!
6. I have the right to be treated with respect as a worthwhile, intelligent and competent person.
7. I do not have to have everyone’s approval all the time to know that I am trying my hardest.
8. Time for unwinding is time very well spent.
9. Making mistakes is not a disaster – I can learn from these and it allows others to as well.
10. I must be fair to myself and remember, at all times especially in the face of criticism, anxiety and difficulties,
THAT I AM DOING THE BEST THAT I CAN!!

Good on ya for spreading the word and support. I think the power of this condition and it's ability to interfere with one's life is very underestimated by alot of society. Your doing a GREAT job here. All the best wishes!!!

I look toward every day in being a strong part where people help each other, where friends care,
where togetherness in support is never a question but always an answer... I created this site
because of two very important friends who encouraged me, and because what is in here is a part
of my memory, and it still is and has been a hidden part of too many children who suffer today.
Laws need changing, children need to know they have people out here who care and will do what
it takes for them to be able to be a child, without suffering...
Thanks for your friendship, I look forward in working together on all areas of life and health.
Have a great Monday...

Thanks for the add!
I’ve lived with anxiety for most of my life in the form of panic disorder, agoraphobia, borderline OCD, and generalized anxiety.
I remember counting and checking as young as age 5. I had an exaggerated startle response due in part to things I witnessed at home and in the neighborhood. My “survival package” in what I perceived as an unsafe world became toxic over time, and I had my first panic attack in college where there was no domestic violence or gunshots in my life. I was sure I was having a heart attack! Then the agoraphobia kicked in, and I really thought I was going crazy!
Through education, the panic and agoraphobia dissolved with time and lots of cognitive exercises, plus working out, yoga, and meditation. My counting and checking I’ve come to embrace as part of my perfectionism and upbringing, but they are manageable when I reinforce my own self-worth and unconditional self-love - and my love of this life and all the diverse folks in it!
With awareness, by “catching myself” and “acting as if,” I can make my “fight or flight” work for me instead of against me. Anxiety is natural to human survival, and mental health issues are REAL issues, not imaginary! It’s time to fight the stigma! The more we share, the more we can all learn and understand!
I’m inspired by your site! It’s an honor to cross paths with you!
Peace and Blessings,
Red Mojo
