David Franks: Walkabout…

After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace...
Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse
(please see my blog):
TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare;
Sea, country and works scent the air;
A multitude of monuments,
Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls;
The remnants of defensive walls;
Historic buildings are a gauge
Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields;
Estuaries guarded by shields;
Long sandy beaches and wide scenes;
Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees,
Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries,
And crossed by practical delights -
Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham;
Football kits ad infinitum;
Kept castles - one for study;
Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way,
It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?

Thank You for the add. I recently let people read some of my writings and got great responses. I'm not to sure where they would fit though. I only write as a hobby. Mostly romantic. Even serious ones seem to have a love story. IDK...tell me what you think. Here's one heavy and one light.......
Why Hold On
To hate the world and life I live becomes easier every day for me.
Sometimes I feel as though I am a shipwreck victim lost at sea.
I am survived by a piece of debris; battling the harshest of elements.
Still I hang on wondering, hoping, praying for any new developments.
It is an endless view; I feel like giving up and letting go.
I feel that if safety exists that I will never know.
Comfort or safety has rarely been along the path of my life.
So why hold on if I will never know comfort, security, or have a view of a good life.
I am living and dying so evenly that I wonder the point of it all.
If there is truly more than us then I beg of you to hear my call.
It's Today
Today is our day.
Today is our way.
Today is the day I confront myself and confess the passions that draw me near to you.
Today is the day that you will fully understand my passionate point of view.
Yesterday I could not have told you that you ignite feelings deep from within my soul.
Today I can tell you that without you at my side I fail to feel whole.
Yesterday I would not have told you anything that involved the words of love.
Today I tell you that I need you at my side when standing in front of the one above.

David Franks: Walkabout…
Jun 28, 2009 6:39 PM
(Hi: enjoyed my visit.)
After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace...
Poem (cum song) 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse
(please see my blog):
WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN
(TUNE:
C F G G A A G G
C G A A G G F F
C A A A G G F F
C G A G A G F F
C F G G A A G G
C F G G A G F F)
Once drove an old sedan, up north,
From a place in Sydney to Cairns;
Then to Kuranda I went forth,
By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market,
With fresh fruits of tropical kind;
Walked to the creek through lush thicket -
Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe;
Then, outside, as I wrote for yen,
Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey,
You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know -
Assured voices, elderly men.
That’s now several years ago,
And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.

Hey..... stopping by to show some love to your page...
i am also stopping by to let you know that i am working with a charity that helps underprivilaged kids...
i am selling five songs online and contributing ALL THE PROCEDES to the charity where i will perform for the kids, and then take all of them to SeaWorld for a day of fun...
you can purchase the songs right off my myspace page and it would be a great help. i am already contributing over three thousand personally to the event but taking over 100 kids to SeaWorld with buses and everything is not easy...
Of course i would appreciate the support. Buy the music on the page and contribute to helping..
so on behalf of the kids i am saying thanks.

I belief in
artgeneering...the artist is only a medium,connected to the spirits around him-translating vibes into symbolic shapes to reinitialize the ancient wayof using language...
the way of light and color...
without the disguise of words,right through the passage of our eyes...
to reach hearts and souls without taking the intelectual loop way...
natural formulas in an unnatural world...pure and uncensored...
awakening the visiual awareness, the centre of our inner universe...
to let it shine in the way it has allways been before these annoying
times,
that keep us away from our natural mission...
to stay connected with our great mother earth and her deep spirit of freedom and peace...
we have to regain our nearly lost nativeness,
to stop this wheel of opression and iniquity that haunts our world and our hearts...it's time for the rainbow warriors :-)

she’s not happy; so i hug her more
she pulls away; so we play, tug-a-war
things’ll change, or they won’t, & she’ll complain
while searching for another door
to endure her pain
she’s been rain, since i came swerving in her lane
i asked her name
she said, damsel in distress
standing in her dress, drenched in tears
a smeared appearance, looking a mess
handing her handkerchiefs, to clear her fear; wear & tear
her man, he tanked her wit, & sank her ship
& did other shit, that’ll make you sick
once them anchors hit, she’s been david blaine
straining to get them thangs, off her ankles quick
then i arrived, with the jaws of life
my paws’ll write, the shackles free
from any trap or tragedy, that’s kidnapped your sanity
see, right now, life vows, to keep cramming greed
deceit, & poison, hoisted from the trees of eden
the needy, needing better choices & someone to believe in
misguided voices leading greedy boys & girls
eating oysters, cracking clams for pearls
& coal; in hopes their best friends emerge, so bright
to give them life, & save their soul
but no; no dice
no furs marked his & hers
no throwing rice
no calming words, to calm your nerves & tuck you in at night
still, every word she’s heard, & observed me write
has been a distant light
to spark, her dying heart & give it life
jaws of life

It's totally free too; my goal with this is to accumulate as many BFF's as possible.

Jan 30, 2009 1:25 AM
FROM THE WHY (SCRIPT) Kangaroo Kate
CUT BACK TO
KK
You said it, bet it! It'll wire jaw’s
shut and smash rhino-plastic nose-jobs…
Grinding her fist into her palm.
Into mush, and knock those brutish
broads off there pretty little painted toes"
(Lost in herself). Announcing in a loud, grand voice making big sweeping motions with her arms and using the pole to skate around.)
KK
And plus, whenever someone calls me Kate- boy does it just make my blood boil! So it'll be good for getting my adrenaline
pumping before jumping in the ring with them derby broads
(Beat)
when I hear…
Kangaroo Kate skating in fast up to Boyo her arms outspread as she comes to stop.
KK
The most dreadalicious of dames
(beat) breaking jaws and breaking hearts-
BOYO
And taking names too I bet?
DAIS
Here we go…
KANGAROO KATE
(Jumping on the idea of taking names.)
A whole hit list of names! Names of dames on every team. And every team knows about it, and rumors fly around the derby league about who…
Pauses and lifts on finger into the air, shaking it and nodding her head.
KANGAROO KATE (cont’d)
Might be on it. That and my jab, that's my gimmick
A regular quick-draw Mcgraw! And the most hated, be-(beat)-cause I'm prettier than all those muscles-bound braggarting snaggle-toothed hags! I'm gonna be the (beat)one making all those mug-bloke louses
in the crowd all daffy and wonky-eyed, giving their little Woody Woodpecker’s a Priapism! And making all their boring Betty Boop, cool, Hello Kitty girlfriends hot under the collar, flushed red and dropping beads of jealous sweat!
(back to reality)
But yeah, you know, I could really go for a double-dipped, caramel-fudge banana split with pink cotton candy mountains of whip cream on top.
