Death of Me	Mar 21, 2007 7:27 AM Tony: Thanks for letting me know about this tune. I love the free flow of Night Walk in Manhattan. It has those random associations of people on the street, roaming, glancing, smoking, and moving on. Being drawn into The City has its scent of danger and its reward in shadow, in the swirl. The rooting of (and for) the two lovers adrift in the gilded temple, the kiss, and invitation to pitter-patter through the swirl is what keeps the momentum of the song. Can you love me on the run? Can we glide through our own shadows? The answer is yes: “Me, me with you girl, into The Swirl” I like repeating the ending lines and would take it out even longer. Ironically, I hear a lot of California in here too. There is a little Jefferson Airplane on this stroll, in the phrasing. Maybe Grace Slick is walking alongside. Creedence too. I also dig what the band does with cat paws (pause). Great control, and then it gets rolling again. I really like it and would never have guessed it is almost eight minutes. Makes me want to walk right out in The Swirl! (Gonna write me an eight minute song too!) Chris LeRoy
