I have recently come back from Kenya's Central Province in the Great Rift Valley in Nanyuki. There I have found some amazing people doing some amazing things despite their level of poverty. The group in particular I'm talking about is the "Ichuga Maendeleo Self Help Group" who has developed a small Tree Nursery and would like to expand on it. They have a small plot to do the work they have done already. Biggest problem is water when the rains are not available to water the small trees. If you would like to help donate or know of others who could help assist this group in Nanyuki, or other non-profits please spread the word about "Ichuga Maendeleo Self Help Group". What they need most is a plot of land to buy and a bore-hole on that land for clean water not just to water the trees, but also for clean drinking water in this community. On May 15th 2007, all myspace members are to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places. There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the myspace network, and the average car takes about 20 to 30 dollars to fill up. If all myspace members did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,200,000,000.00 (that's BILLION) out of the oil company's pockets for just one day. Everyone is capable of making plans to use public transportation for just one day. Please support the "buy no gas" effort on May 15th. Everyone that thinks their votes dont count on election day, this is especially for you. In this money culture that we live in, the dollar is your vote. DO NOT FILL YOUR TANK TO THE BRIM THE DAY BEFORE. SIMPLY TRY TO AVOID DRIVING FOR ONE DAY !!!! ONE DAY CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IF WE ARE ALL UNITED.
