I knew you were awesome and all, but I'd forgotten just how awesome till today. Who else would gush with me over films, bitch about dumb literature girls + extol the virtues of NARS' rubbery packaging? Also notice how I'm Myspacing you and not Facebooking? God I hate Facebook, I don't know how people put up with it...x

I miss you times a billion, it's been too long. I finish class at 12 on Wednesday, I'm going to head down and visit parents, but would you be free around then for lunch? How does Don Dons sound? I could be there around 12:20?
I'm very excited for you about Mexico, slowly making plans myself for my grand escape from Australia sometime next year.
The sickness sucked, but it was worth sticking it out in order to feel a little more free. Maybe I sound vague, I'll explain when I see you.
I would be more profound right now but I can't, my eyelids are aching slightly and maybe even swelling up and I sure hope it's got nothing to do with the water-throwing incident. Let me know about Wednesday, save me from blingee and my squid abortion xo!

So good to hear from you, although it sounds like things have been tough...
I love your comment, but I might have to delete it, so the Myspace community doesn't read it and think I'm involved in any criminal activity. Just in case mother and father pass by Myspace.
I miss you too and would love to see you soon but our plans seem to collide this week. I'm at home tomorrow but I'll be frantically writing an essay, Thursday is busy, Friday and weekend will be GAY practice and debauchery and piecing my psyche back together afterwards. Want to make plans in advance for next week? Let me know when you guys are free. Can't wait to hear about books and films and Mexico plans xoxo

Don't know if you've seen Le Mepris (Contempt) by Godard, but Chanel does a really bad "homage" to it in this ad. Hate it.

Coffee next week sounds fab.
Did you search her or just stumble across her? I'm pretty sure her name is 'Polona'!
Did you end up getting my txt? I'm confused as to which of your numbers to use.

I won two tickets to see Death in Brunswick at ACMI this weekend.
I'm digging this pattern of winning things.
I miss you, worried you're miserable, can't wait till you get back - if you're back In time and not too jetlagged want to see the film with me? xoxoxo

Hello Sweetpea,
I'm not terribly fussed by what people call me. I'll pretty much answer to anything from 'hey you' to something more specific...as long as it's nothing TOO derrogatory (although I have been know to answer to 'oi slag' on occassion). :)
I am indeed ensuring that our fair city doesn't go into disarray without your lovely presence. Hopefully it will be as you remember it when you return--to my knowledge Melbourne hasn't been taken over by flesh eating aliens or conquered by vikings whilst you were away...so you should manage to fit back in quite easily, without the cumbersome need to buy a jet pack/learn to how to steer a longship and appreciate horned headwear. I'm so sorry that your time in HK has been such a trial, it sounds truly gastly. But I guess even if all you get out of the trip is the firm resolve to never go back, then at least it has been productive in some sense.
I am good---SO not wanting to go back to uni, but good nonetheless. Though I think my latest addiction is going to be yum cha and my sources inform me that you are quite the small-food-in-bamboo-basket fiend also.SO we must go when you return! In any case, I hope the flight back is uneventful and that we rendezvous soon so that you can debrief about your various ordeals.
Until then my sweet,
M
xoxo

I appreciate you saying that. I..m in a point of being unsure of how many friends I actually have left after such absence.
What was this I facebook skimmed about you being overseas? Whats the word with that?
And while we..re at it, whats news in general?
.
Jul 11, 2007 2:03 AM
Are you feeling rotund from stuffing your face with cheap HK food? You'll sweat it all out, don't fret, you are definitely NOT a fatty. I wouldn't be your friend if you were.
And don't worry about your Cantonese. Think of all those HKers out there with their twisted honky sounding Mandarin. Think of assimilated dickheads like me who speak their own made up pidgin Cantonese/English hybrid.
I won a double pass to see Cashback from Is Not Magazine, coooool huh.
Check my Youtube for lovely Patrick Wolf videos.
Take care and have fun, there's too much stuff to do to be homesick! xoxo
.
Jul 5, 2007 3:30 AM
You're leaving tomorrow! It's going to be SO hot over there, sweaty like my sopping wet loins.
I'm feeling so ADD, possibly even ADHD over Patrick Wolf, I will attempt some shithouse quality camera footage.
Have fun...work the room like a pro...keep safe xoxo

I'll put forth a tentative "yes" for Monday. I'm really behind on classwork because of being sick. I thought that a trip into town, basking under the flattering glow of David Jones would give me some energy. Instead I was blowing blood-riddled snot into a sodden tissue, smearing blood all over my face in the process, and sort of feeling like I was about to pass out any minute. So we'll see how I feel Monday, and how much work I've got. I'm a bad cinephiliac, I want Blades of Glory. And I've always prided myself in how much I dislike Will FERAL.
Yes I think I will email Felicity. Maybe we can write a joint email to be extra creepy. xoxo

"still reeling from the 16mm disasters with Chelsea Girls"
WORST UNINTENDED PUN IN THE WORLD.
I just had to make a note of it, in case you read it and thought I was trying to be funny or something. x
.
Jun 29, 2007 2:14 PM
I hadn't been to Screen Affect in awhile, and I just discovered it's private now...I really want to read it, I've completely renewed my interested in all those filmmakers...still reeling from the 16mm disasters with Chelsea Girls. You know those little pieces of new knowledge, sights and sounds that completely change your worldview and your sense of self as an analyst/theorist/spectator? All those films had that effect on me, I NEED that blog!
When do you head off to HK? I got so sick after we had dinner, I am really infectious and unwell, must get better soon so we can see each other before you leave. I'm brimming with envy imagining you getting all Sasa and Bonjour crazy. Love Daphne
.
Jun 23, 2007 10:42 AM
By the way, yes totally add Toby as a friend, so far he's only got me and that pesky Tom. The apartment is quiet, it's begging for a constant stream of visitors...I just got home. My head feels like it's being bricked in, I had a weird night out. Will invariably ramble on about it when I see you. There was something else I was meant to say but I feel too retarded to remember. xo
.
Jun 23, 2007 10:36 AM
I'm having coffee with a friend at 3, so how does 6 sound, and then dinner and rambling conversation afterwards? Where are we seeing it? x

Jun 20, 2007 11:44 AM
Hong Kong!...Directors!? Please enlighten me! Imagine the grossly excessive camera wars that would ensue if we went to HK together.
I'm free Monday night for dinner and/or movie, Factory Girl is coming out tomorrow, it will be crap, but please see it with me Monday? xxx

I hate you... that sounds delightful...
Gargh... Well the ideas are getting there. Decided to do a film for Trashorama [look it up] films due on August 14th, so think of ideas too!
The style is sort of John Waters, or early Peter Jackson [that sort of trash] so blood, guts and violence should be involved, and if I can swing it, some exploitation of some kind...
Woo For YOU!!!

More madness. I'm upset. Computer playing up resulted in me losing 150GB worth of stuff. Mostly goods stuff too dammit. Thankfully I had flickr so all my photos [or the good ones at least] were backed up and not lost, but bye bye all my Y the Last Man and Doom Patrol comics I had been downloading, and some programs and music which were handy to have, and now need to be recollected. And all my new songs are gone to god!!! Sadness in the Dean camp tonight... BUT it shall be fine in the end, just time..! So that was my long winded message, and to make it even more so:

Hello Fabulous One,
Have you finished your essays yet??! If so, boo on you for I am still going. I handed 5,000 words in on Tuesday and I've got 5,000 more due on Monday. Humph. I am greatly displeased with assessment (not just my particular essays but the whole premise in general) and can quite distinctly feel a tantrum coming on.
Meh, who has the energy for tantrums.
My cyber-stalking efforts inform me that you are unwell. You poor thing, I hope Darren has been suitably reproached for passing on his illness to you. Damn boyfriends---good for nothing but spreading disease and driving you around.
Heehee, no I don't mean that. *looks around sneakily to see if Dean is lurking in the cyber shadows*
Well, this certainly is substanceless ranting so I'd better stop. But I just thought I'd stop by to say hi and get well soon. And finish your essays so that you can give me more blog posts to read...

We're everything you might have expected and more. Ironic that we are We Are The Soundcheck but thinking back I'm pretty sure we didn't even have an actual soundcheck. But you know, not having a soundcheck was all a part of our grand conceptual plan of discord and aural apathy. Of course.
The video you took on Friday won't upload onto Myspace so I'm Youtubing it, but it seems to be all wrong, do you know if Youtube videos are meant to take ten years to process?

What is this Daft Punk movie anyway? I'm pretty sure I don't like Daft Punk, that video for Around the World traumatised my childhood.
The funny thing is, Evil Bec is one of the rare two or three people on my Myspace who I don't actually know in person. We did see each other at St Jerome's once though...
Lets do dumplings soon.

Aw dazzzzzzzzz, that's ok, it's his (unintentional) payback for me not going to his second 21st.
You still essaying?
I finished 5000 words over 2 days last night and at 11pm, I have no idea how, I was amazed at myself. I'd been surviving on three hours sleep and was hungover too. It must just be one of those asian things...you know, being amazing.
Can't wait to see you tonight! xoxo

Oh good, as long as the problem lies with disco itself and it's not so much a case of me just being a desperate, music-starved tragic. But it's getting pretty extreme---I'm even considering having a disco-themed post-exams party. If I do eventually get my act together and organise something you simply must bring your radiant self along and hussle the night away (dancing, not turning tricks or anything...unless you WANT to that is).
I just adore your pimped-up page...and that new text box---phew, what can I say?! I certainly think it was worth the hassle. No one will have a little box as spiffy as that, you will be the toast of MySpace...for a time at least. I wish I had something as cool as that, you make me feel inadequate.
My procrastination has largely involved staring blankly at walls so I'm not quite as productively unproductive as you. I can think of about a MILLION things I would rather be doing right now apart from study.
My skin crawls at the thought of having to keep this up for the next two weeks. I feel your pain sister.

Daphne misses Alice and regrets not being able to see her as much lately.
Daphne has to write an essay and a half by tomorrow - she only had 3 hours sleep night before last, and is all shaky from fatigue and keeps nodding off at her desk mid-essay. Daphne told me to tell you "wow I feel really fucking wrecked", but that she'd really love to see you tomorrow night, you hot asian skank.

Alllliiiiccceee!!!
Help. I'm in love with disco. Is this a problem?? It is a realisation that has only occurred to me since I found a daggy 'best of disco' CD whilst rooting around in my collection trying to procrastinate (and succeeding mind you). At first, I was just listening for the perk-up factor but once the CD (nay, TWO disc set) finished I was overcome by the compulsive urge to listen to it again.
Is there a support group???
Anyway, I just thought I'd send you some SWOTVAC lovin' as I (quite clearly) have gone crazy from too much reading/writing/staring at a computer screen. I hope your essays are coming along splendidly.

I'm totally busy Tuesday, have to figure out band stuff for Camp Betty.
I was meant to spend today being all studious but copious substance interactions the night before have resulted in me feeling not physically ill, but just 'dumb', like my brain cells have floated away like clouds. So yeah I've lost a day of study, which makes me busier than I already was.
But you will come see me at Camp Betty please please, bring your Darren and anyone else.
.
Jun 1, 2007 10:55 PM
The show hasn't happened yet, nitwit, it's Friday 8th June. You must come! Please!
I'm out of the nest now, very very busy this week but want to have a quick coffee tomorrow (Sunday) or Monday?
I just woke up from a disturbing erotic dream involving Lindsay Lohan AND the bad accountant guy from Aliens, ick, kill me.

Sobbing? toilet paper? As if Alice, you exaggerate. I had allergies...and there was like...this thing in my eye.
I need to inhale some of your pheromones dear Alice, especially if you're ovulating. Just let me lick the sweat off your pits a little, don't be afraid. I think my constant exposure to the company of gay men has resulted in a failure to synchronise my cycles with other females. Hence the failure of my uterus to send blood gushing out of my vagina. I haven't had my period, in like, three months. SISTAS IT'S TIME TO RISE UP AND SYNCHRONISE!!!11
p.s No, I'm not pregnant.

Aloha Gorgeous---
Yes, I completely agree, there is much to be done with the two of us involved! And head banging Pat is certainly a required addition to any good night out (we could get him all liquored up and he could beat us a path to the doors of all the places that we want to go, no waiting in line for us!).
Although I don't necessarily see why we would have to do something where you will not be jumping around---I think the jumping around is half the fun. :) Are you going burlesquing on Sunday? Did you mean that you have photos with which to blackmail me or Pat? If it's the former then please let me know where you would like me to deposit the unmarked bills...and in what denomination you would prefer them.
I hope you are super and that we catch up again soon,
M

P.S. I know, how hilarious is the song?? I stumbled across it completely by accident but now the general consensus is that I can never change it.

Elle Macpherson bras come in the tiniest A cups though, which is awesome for boys like me. I don't like padding personally, in fact I don't even like bras. I tried those nipple cover things but they don't work well, I might try duct tape next. Little criss crosses.
I'm feeling great, things have totally turned around since I saw you last. I'll explain some other time. I tend to study better alone, but I'd love to have a coffee date, I'll msg you and see if you're around when I'm holed up at Bailleau. I'll be back up there all the time once essays are done. Can't wait till holidays - that totally insubstantial week or two off before I hit the books again!
Yay!?
How are you anyway?

Nah don't worry it was way better than my Salman Rushdie mumblings.

Dear Alice do you have work after class tomorrow? If not, maybe we can sit at my place and do..stuff. I'm pretty much always at uni or at my parent's this week. I'm free Thursday for researching and catch ups.

It's ok if you can't be bothered, I'm feeling abit run down, got alot of work, sort of in a staying in my room mood. But can I borrow Jubilee sometime? I still have your Raspberry Reich which I should burn and return.
Wow you're rich, I haven't even made that much with my job and I started in January, but I guess I haven't worked much.
If I msg you, which number should I use? The temporary one?
