Come and watch Le Tour with others to make the nail biting atmosphere of
the final two stages even more intense!!

I have persuaded the Lass O Gowrie pub to let us use the upstairs bar to
watch Le Tour on

Saturday 25th July for the Ventoux Stage

And on

Sunday 24th July for the final stage to Champs Elysess

Come to the pub from noon til 5pm on both days to watch the action LIVE
and socialise with other cycling fans too.

It will be free to come in and the Lass will have their usual supply of
fine CAMRA award winning ale selection and food to keep you going
throughout.

On Saturday, after the race has finished we shall go for a 40-50 mile
**twilight ride** from the pub out to Cheshire and up the Wizard. Not
quite the Ventoux but a hill with a great view. Meet at 5pm outside the
pub

**In order for me to know which room to use I need you to RSVP to
info@ibikemcr.org.uk if you are coming on either or both days. (there are
different rooms with different capacities and it will be a right arse if
we have to change to the bigger room half way through, but the atmos might
be a bit lost if we're in a huge room with only a few of us, so please let
me know ASAP)**

oh and, not only can we all watch the tense and WELL exciting last stages
but we can play the new drinking game I invented: every time sean kelly
says "certaintly" we drink a shot! ace.

EVERYONE WELCOME!

FREE ENTRY!

The idea of Bike Node is simple: "to help connect cyclists".

Bike Node is a free directory of cycling links for the global cycling community.

It provides a central place for cyclists to easily seek information about anything to do with bikes. It also benefits other bicycle-related businesses through added exposure.

The aim is to create the world's largest resource of cycling websites.

If you have your own cycling-related website or blog, I'd like to invite you to add any links to bike node free of charge (please suggest a category if you don't see an appropriate one). Thanks, Les.

I Bike MCR Festival 2008 POSTER AND FLYER COMPETITION
we are running a competition this year for the flyer and poster
designs. Basically as part of the bike art exhibition we want all you bike
artists to design us a poster and/or a flyer to advertise the 2008 i bike
mcr festival. All entries will be exhibited in the exhibition but the
winning design will be printed millions of times and seen in the far
corners of the world. You will also win a really ace prize too.

Its up to you whether you want to include the full timetable on the poster
but it would be good to have it on the back of the flyer design but please
write "check the website for changes and updates" it might be good to keep
a psd (or original- depends what programme you use to make it i guess-
though if you are drawing it then maybe just do a rough idea of the back
then you dont get pissed off if we ask you to add stuff) as if you win
we'd like to to add any updated changes to the timetable. The CLOSING DATE
FOR ENTRIES INTO THE POSTER AND FLYER COMPETITION IS 1ST JANUARY 2008

Details to be included on the poster and flyer:

the festival runs from Friday 28th March to Friday 25th April 2008
web address is www.ibikemcr.org.uk
email address is info@ibikemcr.org.uk

Please add your designs to the flickr photopool here:
http://www.flickr.com/groups/574468@N21/pool/
REMEMBER TO LEAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS WITH YOUR IMAGE ON FLICKR when we
choose a winner we will contact you and ask for a high pixel version of it
(300dpi). If you have problems loading it to flickr then please just email
it to info@ibikemcr.org

WE WANT YOUR MIXTAPES! AND WE WANT THEM NOW! (errm or next week.. whenever you got a minute like...)

For a mini mixtape/cd fest at Temporary Autonomous Arts, a squatted art exhibition in Manchester next week, from 24-28 October. See www.myspace.com/taamanchester for details....

The exhibition is a free, autonomous space where people from Manchester and around can gather for creative expression. Part of the lineup of events is DIY day on Thursday 25th, and part of that is our mini mixtape festival.

SO to get involved, all you have to do is:

1. Create a mixtape/CD! Make as many copies as you can, the more you give the more you recieve....

2. Either message us to find out where to drop off your tapes before the event, or come to the space (Venue to be announced nearer the time keep checking www.myspace.om/taamanchester for updates...) any time on Thursday 25th Oct armed with your tapes/cds.

3. Put them on the mixtape exchange stall, and browse through the other tapes and CDs. Take whatever tickles your fancy. Hang around and check out the rest of the exhibition, the other workshops, and the jam night that night.

4. Go away with a lod of ace new tapes and CDs lovingly compiled by a fellow mixtape enthusiast and discover new music for FREE! Come back to the space over the next few days and enjoy all the other amazing events that are going on.

Thats it! Simple but beautiful, eh? So get making those tapes and CDs and get in touch for info on where to bring them.

Let your creativity run wild! The music can be themed, a collection of random favourites, music for a particular mood or time, an expose of a favourite genre, WHATEVER. Decorate the covers, make them pretty, write track listings, write little notes inside, or go minimalist and just bring a mystery tape without a case...

Its a good idea to stick an email address (or web address, or myspace profile address, or if you're a bit desperate your phone number and what night you're fr

The debut Manchester show from Parkertron, a solo electro MPC set from Fingathing’s Peter Parker.

ABSENT MINDS
Sadly the last ever show from this much loved local hip hop duo, but theyre sure to go out with a bang.

Thursday 25th October Noon until 7pm.
Temporary Autonomous Arts Exhibition Manchester

As part of the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) movement, the TAA provides a temporary space for anyone to
teach or learn something interesting and share skills which help people live practically and
happily, creatively and sustainably. It's based on the idea that everyone has something to teach
you don't have to be a professional or have a degree in something to pass on skills. Nor is it required to pay an institution for education.

If you would like to share a skill please get in touch, whatever it is. Some ideas: bicycle maintainence, knitting, welding, yoga, playing an instrument, yoga, container gardening, how to speak another language, screen printing, basic electrics, bookbinding, basic plumbing, how to light fires, mix tape swap, computer skillshare, haircutting, clothes making, FREESHOP (bring stuff you don't want, take stuff you do!)..
