In 1999, the US government banned the depiction of animal cruelty, however the law was overturned by the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals which ruled that these films were protected as free speech.

“Switch off Hazelwood. Switch off Coal. Switch on Renewables” is a day of fun, creative and inspiring direct community action at Hazelwood coal power station. This march and protest at the front gates of the Hazelwood Power Station, is organised by community members who care about climate change - and are willing to take peaceful community action.


11am on Sunday September 13, 2009 we will meet on the corner of Brodribb & Nadenboushs Rd (South of Morwell), and March to the front gates of the Hazelwood coal power station. Rallying at the front gates to 'Switch on Renewables and Switch off Coal' and slap a Community Decommission Order on Hazelwood Power Station.

You do not need to be in an arrestable position to play a vital role in this community protest and mass civil disobedience!


- Hazelwood is one of the dirtiest power stations in the industrialised world, emitting 17m tonnes of CO2 annually.
- Hazelwood was due to be switched off this year. In 2005 the state ALP government extended this polluting dinosaurs life to 2031.
- We are protesting to show that the social licence to continue to burn coal and pollute has been revoked. We are declaring a Community Decommission Order on Hazelwood, to switch on the renewable energy transition.

Re- Jamie Oliver episode, hardly saving the poor pig, there is no humane way to kill any Animal, only murder, they don't condone humans being treated that way, so why Animals?
I am very dissapointed In Jamie's show myself, still promoting eating pigs!!! and the birth of 13 piglets on his program. Horrendous the sufferring they will endure, (THERE LITTLE TAILS CUT & BURNT, PLUS CASTRATION WITH NO ANESTHETIC), completely barbaric, cruel, inhumane, brutal & savage. Wise up humans, stop the maddness created by corrupt govt's, stand up & be counted, do what is right for all living creatures.
Look at obesity within society, & other illnesses, re- heart disease.
All created by the consumption of Animal fat, stop being greedy!!!
WAKEY!!! WAKEY!!!
And the fact these poor Animals are being artificially inseminated absolutely disgusts me, to bring Animals into a world of pain & sufferring deliberately is PURE EVIL.

Hi everyone,

Forgive my cheekiness but today we're starting a Paypal appeal to help us raise funds to buy new hutches and runs for Pet-Tacular's rabbits. Our last hutches were destroyed by cattle that were let into our walled garden, we've since agreed with our landlady to move the hutches and runs into her garden where they'll be safer but at the moment the hutches our rabbits are contained in are far from satisfactory.

All monies raised from this appeal will go directly towards buying 4 new hutches with attached runs so our rabbits can safely get out onto the grass.
