well keep in mind, the whole book is a diary belonging to a 15 year old girl.
she doesn't have that big of a vocabulary, but the descriptions are good.

it starts before she even knew anything about drugs,
and you basically read her journal over a period of a year or so.
and it eventually leads to her death by overdose.
