hola marcus! .. que tal? ... you lookin.. smooth peekin.. out there with that neckerchief (y .. sin sombrero??) ... i gotta tell you that the more i listen to interviews .. read articles .. study the man .. and see his actions ... I am a little bit overwhelmed with how much I like the current U.S. President! ... it just doesn..t seem real that someone with such an obvious depth of integrity, honesty, and *passion to serve* could be living in the White House ... but .. it IS real ... ¡que te sigues tocando, componiendo, y disfrutando tu vida con la musica en San Francisco! .. un saludo*

Marcus: Hi I want to let you know what Mark and I have been up to. Well, we live far form each other and we had been listenting to MSJO together apart. When we hooked up after about four days it was at an art opening where a trio was playing. Geoff on electric Fender. Which he rather liked and he could make it sound pretty jazzy. Eastman Stuard on electric Roland, Micheal Curran on drums and the ever effervescent Yolanda Nichols on Sax. Sam Maez sat in on Trumpet till Yolanda arrived. It was very crowded. They asked for me to sit in. So I did Night and Day in Bb. I used my newly acquired skills that Madeline and Rebecca taught me. Later, when Mark and I left, we went up the mountain to his little secluded cottage and reunited nicely, that is when we realized we had been listening to you together. In the morning I put Disc 2 of MSJO on. It knocked us out. In the STACK of cds Mark has I found 'Un Faux Pas'. The Black Notes!!!! You and JAZ! And the liner notes! As Mark sipped his morning coffee I read to him. We are so happy now. To us your musical vision is the bridge into the future. I hear all the old guys and also something so new and fresh and honest. We are thrilled. Mark and I are apart again, he is tootleing around on his mountain, which I am sure he would want you to visit and I am in the valley. It was very smoky at his house this AM. Here on the coast I can see smoke coming up over the coastals and then being sucked southeastward up the EEl River. I have the week off and I am planning at least one gig somewhere with Easton before he leaves for Missouri. (Grad school) I will also hang with Mia who I love so much. I found an article that you might be interested in. It is about the huge Redwood Tree named Hyperion that Steven Stillett climbed. Do you remember our conversation at camp? I'll send it snail mail....
Take care and enjoy Kennedy....they grow so FAST!!!! Fondly, Mary-Jo

Dear Marcus: Thanks for adding me to your friend list. I have been listening to MSJO each morning on my way to work and each evening on my way home. I'm almost all the way through it now. It is a great work. I love it. I hum parts of it all day long at work. I have not even looked at the liner notes yet. I'm working through it slowly. Thank you for your genius. This music is definitely up there with my favorites. Take it easy.
