Raiders Celebrate Native American Heritage

a a Several activities are scheduled for this Sunday's game...
The Oakland Raiders will pay tribute to Native American Heritage Month this Sunday when the Silver and Black take on the Kansas City Chiefs at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. The celebration includes a KTNN radio broadcast in the Navajo language, an on-field ceremony to honor Navajo Code Talker and Former Leader of the Navajo Nation Peter MacDonald and a performance by the Native American dance group – Native Boogie and Beats.


“We salute the Navajo Nation and the Navajo Code Talkers and we are proud to broadcast Raider games in Navajo for the fifth consecutive season,” said Raiders Chief Executive Amy Trask. “We are committed to reaching our global fan base in a variety of languages and through a variety of multimedia options. Broadcasting our games in Navajo allows us to do this and also presents another opportunity to preserve the Navajo language and to salute the Navajo Code Talkers.”




Native Boogie and Beats will welcome fans with a traditional dance performance at the Coliseum BART entrance gate. The dancers will celebrate the beauty and pageantry of Native American social dance and singing styles commonly viewed at Pow Wows.

Hello there, how is everything going with you? Regarding my previous enquiry about the French section, Ive been reading Trotskys Writings 1934-35. There is a lot in there about France. Trotsky was actually exiled in France in 1934. Anyone who believes that the 4th International consisted of yes men & hero worshippers should study this area of history. Unfortunately there were not enough people who agreed with Trotsky in France, Spain & Germany at these crucial times.

Are you aware of Robert Services biography of Trotsky comrade. It is getting a lot of publicity over here. By all accounts it is a shameless trashing of Trotskys personality & abilities. Talk about creating amalgams. Take a look.

In this clip Christopher Hitchens debates with Service. Hitchens calls himself a Trotskyist, God help us. Hitchens supported Bush in the war in Iraq, Afghanistan etc. Anyway I would be interested in your views on this.

Thanks very much. There was quite a lot of historical data there which was helpful. The French section was a very volatile section, rife with provoceteurs like Mill. I also think Raymond Molinier was a very complex character. He divided people apparently. Very charasmatic, liked by Trotsky up to a point.

I recently read 'The Spainish Revolution' by Trotsky. The trouble in the French section was a key component (although not the decisive one) in Trotsky's break with Nin in Spain.

Any more information you come accross regarding this period would you let me know.

Hello there, hope everything is going well with you. I am not sure if we were in contact before, perhaps I am mistaking you for someone I was debating with, but unfortunately it came to an end. If it was you I would like to say I think you were very articulate & obviously had a lot of historical knowledge. Although we had fundemental differences I did enjoy the debate.

Without being at all partisan I was wondering if you know very much abt a paticular episode in the 4th International regarding the 1934 French turn. I am very interested to learn more about the French section & the various characters, Molnier. Mill etc.

Any information you have no matter how small I would be interested in. I have not been able to get Trotskys book on the French Section, though I have read Wither France.
