Oscar nominated actor Ryan Gosling and fellow actor Zach Shields went
into the studio with a bunch of instruments and The Silverlake
Conservatory Of Music Children's Choir to make a Halloween themed
record. It's creepy, catchy and fun and has been getting comparisons
from The Arcade Fire to Bryan Ferry featuring a kids choir gone goth.
In addition, the artistic aesthetic of old Universal horror films,
vaudeville music-hall numbers, and silent-screen melodramas infest the
music. I know it sounds like it would suck but it's very awesome. ANTI-
and Werewolf Heart (Gosling's record label) will be handling the
release this October.

maybe by the tracks on sample. sample and dixie right next to shopping plaza. the northside, not the trirail station side. oakland and 95 park at the days inn cross the street and walk down the tracks. i dont know if those would be too interesting.

i still havn't got there! i'm in brooklyn. i've been here for 2 days and before that my car messed up and i was in BFE virginia for 2 days. might be able to move in today but if not i will be there tomorrow.

The tune is built around a guitar chord that rapidly oscillates in volume. As to how the distinctive resonant sound was achieved, Marr gave the following account to Guitar Player magazine in 1990:

The vibrato sound is fucking incredible, and it took a long time. I put down the rhythm track on an Epiphone Casino through a Fender Twin Reverb without vibrato. Then we played the track back through four old Twins, one on each side. We had to keep all the amps vibrating in time to the track and each other, so we had to keep stopping and starting the track, recording it in 10-second bursts... I wish I could remember exactly how we did the slide part -- not writing it down is one of the banes of my life! We did it in three passes through a harmonizer, set to some weird interval, like a sixth. There was a different harmonization for each pass. For the line in harmonics, I retuned the guitar so that I could play it all at the 12th fret with natural harmonics. It's doubled several times.

ey what tortoise albums would you recommend? i have millions now living... i like the some glass museum alot.
oh yeah and check this blog out http://indiepassion. blogspot. com/ everything ive gotten from there was pretty good. listening to shock cinema album the first page its pretty good.

DAN! how goes it? capsule used to be tyranny of shaw and tunes for bears.

and i grew up seeing those bands in lauderdale and miami, still some of favourite music!

Besides the "i love you jesus christ" line on track 2, even that line is pretty catchy ha, the whole cd is pretty awesome. lo-fi folky/indie/sometimes fast stuff. honorable mentions to track 3,4,6 especially track 4. Do you have the new russian circles? i still havn't checked them out yet.

elliot smith where have you been all my life, been listening to either/or al afternoon im hooked. at points it reminds me pinback probably because of way he sings all soft-like. i think im getting to the point you were referring to where your musical taste starts to get to a point where you can't listen to what you want with other people present ha. my mom walked in my room and just looked at me with a "whats wrong with you" expression. Red Sparrows is pretty kick ass too, like a gritter EITS.

Man i've been listening to this album from the guy from dinosaur jr J Mascis - Martin & Me its really good, but i don't have it on my computer. i got a while back when i got a dinosaur jr discography and i wasn't into them so i deleted it but still had it on my ipod. its got the best version of the smiths- boy with a thorn in his side. can't find it anywhere to download it by itself.
