Your slogan about not living life in the rearview mirror had a familiar tune to it... here is a blog I posted in 2006 (great minds think alike) When all of life's stressful events seem to pile up, and I feel like I just want to run away and escape- I do a reality check. I think about all the wonderful things that I have. I am so fortunate- and I am grateful. Grateful to my family, grateful to GOD, and grateful to my friends. Life is what you make of it. I get so tired of hearing people gripe and complain. I mean a complaint occasionally is okay- it's normal. But there are people out there who just live their lives simply to complain. Nothing is ever their fault, they have no sense of responsibility. Look at people around you in your daily lives who talk about their lives as if they were a victim. They live in self-pity. They blame everyone but themselves for their problems. It's depressing. Most people at the top are at the top because they have taken charge of the direction that their life is headed. If they were unhappy with their job, they might first look at themselves and try and figure out why? The world is a cruel place sometimes, I have had my fair share of use and abuse. I have learned from these experiences, become stronger, and moved forward with my life. One of my favorite statements about life is one that my husband told me once... "A windshield in a car is bigger than the rearview mirror- simply because it is more important to see where you are going, than where you have been." Check back every now and then to keep things in perspective, or to remind yourselves of how far you have come. But the moment that you stay fixed on that rearview mirror- is the moment that you crash and become stuck in time.
