As of 3 years ago New Orleans was my home. I was abruptly uprooted as a result of Hurricane Katrina. So you can only imagine how heavy my heart feels this weekend watching the city preparing for the possibility of being hit by a similar sized storm. Yet I am filled with gratitude as I know that I am equipped with the ability to help those that are going to need assistance as a result of the storm. No matter where this storm hits, those there are going to need help.
I am proudly announcing that I am coordinating concerts/seminars around the United States to benefit victims in need. This is resulting from my recently published book (The Remains of Hurricane Katrina), and my dream of one day being able to help victims of all types. The first of these events is being planned in New Mexico to benefit their domestic violence victims.
I am asking all singers, bands and anyone that can help with these events to contact me as soon as possible. We need all the participation and help that we can acquire. The events are going to have to occur as soon as possible. Please refer to my site for further information or contact me as soon as possible, no matter who you are, if you want to help.
It is true, only good results from helping others. It makes dreams come true.

Elixir Cafe on the corner of 2nd and W. Laurel St. is having a Book Signing Nov 30th 2007 Starting @ 6pm.
Gigi James' touching and comical novel, "I Didn't Sign Up For This!" travels back through the outrageous memories of the young physician, Jillian Moulton. Jillian recalls her happiness, hardships, and heartaches with her friends and family, particularly her life with her ex-husband, Tony Moulton. Tony was a dreamboat. The wealthy, confident, gorgeous Jamaican had such blatant appeal that every woman within a 10 mile radius was trying to land him. Though life appeared ideal with her beautiful husband and their new family, Jillian's reality quickly unraveled with her discovery of the audacious affairs her husband was having with not one, but four women. The young mother is torn between her contempt for his unacceptable behavior and the undeniable comfort and draw of her "perfect" husband and the fantasy lifestyle he represented. After continuous confrontation, battle after battle of ridiculous logic and pages of sizzling resistance, Jillian finally lets go of her hot prospect husband and moves on. This memory lane rollercoaster takes you to the edge and back so that every time you think you've figured it out it throws you for another loop. Jillian is every woman with a spicy, tropical twist. Her dry wit and bewilderment at the unrelenting soap opera that takes over her universe is priceless. "I Didn't Sign Up For This" is the touching and realistic story of love, family, and an in-your-face woman that leaves your sides aching with her hilarious perspective on the game of life.
Hope to see you all at Elixir Caf
