Having got into The Small Faces as a teenage Jam fan in the late 1970s it was an amazing experience to see Steve and The Packet of Three play JBs club in Dudley three times in a year in 1989. At one point during 'All or Nothing' the Microphone popped but we could still hear him at the back!
He was such an amazing influence on so many.
The Sunday morning we got the news he'd passed away my bandmates from The Cudgels - we then jumped in the van and went to rehearsal and played a ragged but passionnate 'Tin Soldier' for Steve.

Steve, I wish you were still here with us...but I know you are present whenever we play your music. Your brazen genius (not to mention your impish, sweet self) simply shines through our ears and into our hearts.
Hope to jam with you one day, my brother! XO

This is a wonderful site, thank you for the approval!
Steve was the most powerful, soulful singer I have ever heard. Not even Robert Plant in his 1970 prime could match him. What a lot of people miss is the fact that Steve was also an amazing guitarist in his own right. Anyone who has witnessed the Packet Of Three can testify to that. He didn't need a "lead guitarist" in his bands.
BLESS YOU, STEVE. You are still sorely missed.

This a beautiful site. A lovely tribute to a consummate musician. The energy and raw passion that overflow in his performances are so inspiring.
I hope that, wherever he is (on the other side), he feels the love and appreciation for his extraordinary talent.

Shouting out from the land of OZ...thanks for the add and a pleasure to find a site of my idol.
After seeing a pic of him in about 1968, I had to find a guitar strap just like his (kinda western buckle belt) and I still have it to this day 'cause it reminds me of him. Got my Les Paul 'cause of him too as he looked sooooo cool.
Covered many of their songs over the years.
RIP Stevie
