NLF, Soe'za & Bozz Jatch

The Cube, Bristol
This Friday, 14th November
Doors 7.30pm
£4 advance, £5 on the door
(Tickets available from Here Shop and Bristol Ticket Shop)

NLF3
http://www. myspace. com/nlf3

Formed in Paris in 2000, NLF3 create music is cyclical, textured, halfway
between movie scores and psychedelic transgression. The band cites influences
such as Alice Coltrane, Fela Kuti, This Heat, Can and the early Sonic Youth
while mixing a lot of electronics together with a wide variety of instruments :
amplified kalimba, electric guitars and bass, drums, percussions, vocals.

SOE'ZA
http://www. myspace. com/soeza

Soe'za are currently a seven-piece band, hailing from points along the M4
corridor, from Bristol to London. With a somewhat unorthodox line-up of two drum
kits, two electric guitars, bass, French horn, Soe'za mix Can-esque grooves, and
urgent guitars with two disparate yet complimentary singers in the shape of Ben
Owen's clear-voiced declarations and Jenny Robinson's soulful melodies.

BOZZ JATCH
http://www. myspace. com/bozzjatch

Featuring current and ex members of Soeza, The Wailingest Cats and Zun Zun Egui,
Bozz Jatch are an experimental swing trio. Rumbling double bass and intricate
drums give way to complex guitar lines and smooth croons. Yielding a unique pop
sound that marries diverse influences; from Django Reinhart and Charles Mingus
through to the elaborate tapestries of Steve Reich and Tortoise.

The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players with An Axe, Bar Oppo, 22nd September 2008
Decorum presents a last minute tour addition, an intimate performance from The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow players - Monday 22nd of September at Oppo (72 Park Street, Bristol). The Trachtenburgs are a domestic trio who play quirky indie vaudeville pop songs in the key of unironic good, clean fun with one major catch: all the songs carefully rhyming lyrics come from the vintage slide collections they've found at estate or garage sales that accompany their performances.

BROKEN ARM
- four dudes from Leeds making garage-rock filled with killer bozo riffs. Their first Bristol show and part of their first tour, they will have their brand new debut EP available at the show, which has come out on Liverpool's Sea records. Members of Broken Arm have previously been in Sailors (gringo), Static Waves, Woman (sea) and Like a Kind of Matador (tumult). Now that's pedigree.

FRINGES
- new band from Bristol with members of Soeza, Line, Headfall and ex-Scarecrows and ex-Murder of Rosa Luxemburg. More sweet pedigree. A tight, jagged, uncluttered, direct sorta sound made by clean-cut squares and scruffy slacks. They are a quartet, with two guitars, saxophone and drums, they keep it instrumental.

COREY ORBISON
- play abrasive, messy, short-sharp, stop-start songs about our cold cold world. Members also in Headfall and involved with the very excellent Local Kid thing.
Check the new tracks up on their myspace!

In the 48 pages, you will find:

- A drunken interview with Anticon's SJ Esau

- NO record or live reviews
- An account of a trip to PrimaveraSound festival and Gringo records 10th anniversary gig by the alcoholic comedian masquerading as a wordsmith; Daniel Robert Chapman.
- Nicholas Bannerman forcibly extracts occasionally misguided though meticulously articulated rants of personal opinion from Nicholas Jones - who is a brilliant writer.
- A complete disregard for proof reading (first run only - v. limited!).
- Hello Roy G! - a surreal and sick comic debut from Stroidy. "That's genuinely entertaining" - Nick Jones "You're sick" - Daniel Robert Chapman. "lol" - Everyone who has read it.
- Plus gushes on Times New Viking, Persona (film), Planet Records, Norman Records, Crescent, Late Junction (Radio), Mew and Random Rules (Leeds club night).

Throwing Snow, Footnotes Part 1 EP

5 tracks of organic sounding, broken beat driven electronic bliss.

Throwing Snow has been compared to the likes of Bonobo, DJ Shadow, Four tet, Xploding Plastix and Quantic.

DJ m.path.iq (D:Bug Mag) -
'What I can say is that I don't get unique music like that every day. Throwing Snow has got my full support. Love Listless, Glitter Clatter and the musicality in each digital detail. Ambient vs. Breakbeat vs. World Music vs. Folk vs. Simply Good Taste.'
