Vu que nous improvisons tous nos concerts, savoir qui joue réellement dans le groupe n’a pas d’importance. Il faut juste être capable de jouer un peu en FFFFFF (toutes les cordes accordées en « fa »). Finalement Action Beat a juste besoin d’un bon batteur (ou 4 bons batteurs). C’est tout. » Voilà grosso modo comment Don McLean l’un des fondateurs d’Action Beat décrit son groupe. On pourrait rajouter que l’influence des premiers disques de Sonic Youth et de Glenn Branca est omniprésente. C’est pas moi qui le dit, c’est l’intéressé lui-même. En tout cas ça s’entend.
