A FREE MULTI-MEDIA, INTERACTIVE EVENT
At the Grain Belt Bottling House in Northeast Minneapolis, Film, Music, Art and More
December 5th 6 pm-10pm , December 6th noon-8 pm, December 7th noon-4 pm.

The Grain Belt Artists present a free multi-media event featuring resident and guest artists working in film, music, performance art, painting, sculpture and photography. This special event will begin with an opening reception on Friday, December 5th, 6 pm-10 pm and will continue throughout the weekend on Saturday, December 6th, noon-8 pm and Sunday, December 7th noon-4 pm. Performance events will be scheduled all three days, stop by the Grain Belt Bottling House for a complete listing. Resident Grain Belt artists opening their studios during the event include: Jeanne Frink, Joe Greco, Caitlin Karolczak, Holly Nelson, Tom Riggle and Lynn Speaker.

Please stop by my studio this weekend for my 2nd annual open studio ( 203 on the 2nd floor) and the 9th annual North East Minneapolis Artists Association Fall Fine Arts Show in the atrium of my building. There will be over 150 artists displaying work and I will have one piece thats being juried in the atrium (Lamentation) and several more pieces, some new, on display in my studio.

The Dadaists did it. Warhol did it. Artists from Negativland to Kanye West do it. Appropriation is an artistic practice in which a previously existing form, image, or sound is reused. The creative effort results in a strangely familiar, yet altogether new creation. The Festival of Appropriation, curated by Some Assembly Required’s Jonathan Nelson and l’etoile magazine’s Kate Iverson, features works drawn from mnartists.org and defined by the inspired selection and manipulation of found materials.

Just in case you didn't already know, the official 2007 MN Fringe Festival site goes live today, and that means we need people to start scheduling our show!

If you are unfamiliar with this practice, here's what to do:
1. Go to www.fringefestival.org
2. You'll see a box in the top right corner labeled "MyFringe." This box is where you register yourself.
3. Click the link titled "Why Register?"
4. Fill in the info for your profile and click the "Register!" button.
5. Procede to the list of shows where you will search out and schedule a time to see our show!
