Thursday January 29th 7.30 - 11

Dean McPhee is a solo electric guitarist who takes his inspiration from a broad range of influences - including Psychedelic and Post Rock, Mali Blues, Minimalism, Krautrock, British Folk, Bluegrass and Moroccan Trance. He has an experimental approach to his guitar sound, which incorporates decaying delay effects, shimmering tremelo and warm valve distortion and his guitar pieces often use unusual chords and tunings.

Joining Dean will be Sam and the Plants (Twisted Nerve) and Magpahi (Bird Recordings). Sam and the Plants is an ingenious musical maverick who crafts beautiful songs and soundscapes using an array of instruments, including his own homemade dulcimers. Also, Magpahi will be playing a set of her own timeless, enchanting and mysterious songs. Her falsetto voice gives her music a romantic, psychedelic quality that brings to life her captivating tales of adventure, weaving and errant horses.
