So I know Bruce Springsteen is rather mainstream, but I have never seen I'm On Fire in anyone's karaoke. That song is so fucking amazing, it's sick. Please add it so I can sing it.

Guys. Please add "The Devil's Crayon" by Wild Beasts if possible. The song is awesome, and will allow us to rock out falsetto style.

"Running the Karaoke Machine"?! Keith IS the Karaoke Machine!
Chris

Oct 26, 2008 7:20 PM

Keith, thanks for coming to my party and running the karaoke machine! It was awesome and everyone had lots of fun. I have a song request for next time: "Bruises" by this Brooklyn band called Chairlift. You might have actually heard it because it showed up in an iPod Nano ad recently. It kind of sounds like a cross between The Cure and Cocteau Twins. It's pretty great.

So I just got my first Custom Karaoke mix from Mycdg.com and thought I'd listen to them and play Name That Tune while I worked. I couldn't recognize one at all and when I looked at the songlist, it was "The Killing Moon". It sounded NOTHING like Echo & The Bunnymen. Nothing. Then I thought, "Wait a minute, didn't Pavement cover Killing Moon?" I tracked down an mp3 of the b-side and sure enough, they recorded a karaoke version of Pavement's cover (with a bit of "Yo Yo Man" thrown in). Weird. Karaoke is WEIRD. Anyways, it made me think of you and all that Pavement karaoke you have. The end.

Apologies for the spam comment below. Anyhow, I think it would be rad if you guys got some songs by Los Campesinos! on there, specifically "The International Tweexcore Underground." That song rocks and it presents the possibility of killer boy-girl duets.

I'll come back to Philly if you add A Postcard To Nina and The Opposite of Hallelujah (needless to say, both by Jens Lekman) as well. I'm going to try to come to the December one. We'll see. If not December, then January. Mark your calendars.

Greetings from BK! For my triumphant return sometime in the future, I humbly request the following three tracks:

Can't come tomorrow, but I will try for October or November. Sad.
