THIS SATURDAY, 8th March
at The BUFFALO BAR, London N1
8.30pm ..
LET’S WRESTLE
Think Art Brut, TV Personalities, Pavement, Subway Sect, Wedding Present etc. Utterly charming and beautifully shambolic.
+
PARANOID DOG BARK
ART BRUT front man Eddie Argos has formed what he describes as an ‘orthodox glam rock outfit’, an indie supergroup with David Devant, Stuffy (Graham Coxons drummer) and others (including our own Paul Guided Missile), with glittery suits, platform shoes, make up.. and all the necessary synchronized stage stomping. Live they appear with Bath’s sensational dance troupe The Panther Girls, dancing and joining in on the parts where everyone shouts out “Hey!”
+
THE JOY FORMIDABLE
You can hear one of their tracks on the ad for Skins at the moment (the telly programme, not rizlas), NME compares them to YYY’s, maybe they’re a bit Breeders too? ... we dunno, but they write great, great, indie pop songs and they’re damn good looking too. Surely they’ll go far. Don’t miss them!
+
CRUISER CHIMPS
Bearsuit’s Lisa and Iain’s side project which sounds like all the best bits of Bearsuit mixed with Melt Banana and Swell Maps!
They say they “spend more time on the dance routines than they do on the songs”, so expect Top Entertainment!
Then, after midnight, enjoy:
GUIDED MISSILE THE CLUB til 4am
Guided Missile DJS: Val and Paul play indie classics, hot newbies, post-punk and drunken pop
See you at the Buffalo this Sat, 8.30. Arrive early! £6/£5

I only recently discovered that your amazing supergroup (supergroup to beat ALL supergroups) existed! I was confused because I had just recently thought how I would like to see Eddie Argos, Frank Sidebottom, and an older man in a group together. Ideally, Bing Crosby, but he's dead. So, my second choice was Carol Channing. But, for you (almost) to actually EXIST and for you to have the second best name ever (the first: The Turkish Travelling Wilburys) is beyond exciting! As a side note, I don't represent Carol Channing, but she probably would bring a whole new sound to the ETWs. Just something to think about.. I'm looking forward to the album! Or, actually hearing you once. You know I am, I really am.

I demand a terrorism reference. The video should be a remake of the Circle of Shit sequence of Salo, filmed at Bournville...

the session on gideon coe was great. 'glam casual' was sounding pretty wonderful and then john moore chimed in and it became something extraordinary. wish it existed somewhere I could download it.

Being busy celebrities with our own 'projects', if we can't all get together soon we ought to maybe record all the bits seperately at Keith's studio? I've learned Petty's bass parts already. Piece of piss. Also, Mr Sidebottom will be in London at the beginning of July for a few days.
