NEW BOOK OUT NOW:
CHTHONIC - Prose & Theory by
Vadge Moore

"Vadge Moore is an American author and musician that has spent a lifetime testing the boundaries of good and evil. He toured and recorded with the infamous sleaze-punk institution The Dwarves, apocalyptic rock group Neither-Neither World, and his own nihilist-noise unit Chthonic Force. He has written for the early nineties occult journal Primal Chaos, the esoteric magazine Dagobert's Revenge, and the controversial web 'zine Synthesis. Recently Vadge has taken up an aphoristic-prose style of writing that best expresses his iniquitous and sinister insights into the mind of Man. Chthonic: Prose & Theory is just that; prose wedded to theory that scrutinizes the human, all too human, Monster that is Man."
"Chthonic: Prose & Theory" is a collection of perverse and violent prose wedded to his own brand of occult esoterica. Peer into the mind of one of America's greatest living libertines.

VIRGIN BRIDE by Tom Estes

Friday 22nd May
7pm-10.30pm

Benjamin Franklin House
36 Craven Street
London
WC2N 5NF

Following on from their sell out shows at the Whitechapel Art Gallery, The Red Velvet Curtain Cult shall inhabit and haunt the Benjamin Franklin House with site specific art, performance, film, oddities and happenings from 13 artists. Set in a Georgian house where layers of history unravel from behind panelled walls and deep-set fireplaces whisper ashes of deeds past, the artists will engage with and draw inspiration from the history of the space, including its most famous inhabitant Benjamin Franklin, he of keys and kites….

Expect spinning tops, glass armonicas, trepanning games, story telling, ceremonial mythologies, muffled whisperings, cyclical wanderings, all serenaded by the sound of a haunting electric cello…

my dissertation is on art in relation to mainstream thinking and ..that the larger part of mainstream society only get filtered down versions of art via commercialism (for profit) and not to raise consciousness - via expression. there are underground influences, arts that appear to be speaking a language of the moment to the people intead of at them but these only reach a small majority.. where as advertising/ the media reach a majority enmass, but pursuades instead of lending itself..and high art seems to be as much about the price tag these days than of mindfulness.
though truthfully hasnt high art has always been seen to be used as a propagandist tool anyway, for the greater good of god, the government or the priesthood. what exactly is arts role in society. and how does that or should that bare relavance to mainstream
