May 22, 2009 2:54 AM

hey there, Songs From The Ark!

well, it has been a long and winding road, and an even longer time coming, but my debut CD, I Remember, is FINALLY HERE!!! YAY!!!!!

to celebrate, American HeartBeat Records(tm) has arranged a FREE DOWNLOAD of Now Is The Time in exchange for a valid email address. Now Is The Time is a brand new, upbeat song I wrote: we are living in turbulent times. suddenly it is okay to be greedy and heartless? no way! a song of hope for our future, a new vision of America and the world.

we have a bunch of exciting things planned to kick this whole thing off, and we need to get a better picture of who our friends are, so the FREE DOWNLOAD form will ask you a few questions, like, what is your country and nearest major city. it all takes maybe 15 seconds.

anyhoo, the FREE DOWNLOAD, and the FUN, begins at www.JAETCHISON.com

I look forward to getting to know you a little better, and I thank you SO VERY MUCH for your friendship and support!

please tell your friends about JAETCHISON.com, and ask them to sign up for the email list, too! FUN things are coming up!!

peace from Atlanta, Georgia, USA,

J.A. Etchison

Hello, we're back again with great new tracks on our page. This month we have some rural bleakness from The Roe Family Singers, the dark intensity of Eamon Dowd, a new song from roots legend Neal Casal and frenetic but compelling from Novillero on the delightfulyl titled but not-at-all-smelly Paco Rabanne. Hope you like them all.

Hello and a Happy New Year to you. An eclectic bunch of songs new to the site this month. The frankly uncategorisable Icelandic band Storsveut Nix Noltes, the sardonic lyics (plus ukelele) of Dent May. some dark folk from The Deep Dark Woods and emerging US singer-songrwiter Israel Nash. Hope you like them all.

Yes, it's that time of the month again when your listening pleasure can be enhanced by heading off to the AUK Myspace site where you will find folk whimsy from The Travelling Band, poignant thoughfulness from Waylon Jennings, The Butless Chaps (don't you just want to know what they sound like?) and the sweetly swinging (and singing) Tish Hinojosa.

Zen And The Art Of Motorcycle Maintenance - summarized in 38 words...

"People think there are two things that make up Philosophy, but there is actually a third thing, and this third thing makes everything one. It's insane.
I thought about this while on a biking holiday with my son."

There goes, Del - saved you the hassle of having to read it. Though it does look good on one's bookself, doesn't it...?

Black Carrot

Black Carrot (Market Harborough) are a vibrant quintet who perform new-wave krautrock jazz madness that oozes rock with a psychotic edge. Fierce and abstract yet serving the concept of the song, their unique sound nods towards Beefheart and Pere Ubu but is shot through with flavours of New York jazz skronk, and the loosest, funkiest Krautrock.

"Black Carrot are truly inspired musicians" - Jean Hervé Peron/Faust
Black Carrot release their second studio album "Drink The Black Forest" on Tin Angel Records on 3rd November 2008. To support the release initially they will be playing UK tour support for Baby Dee throughout late November early December in addition to their own headline shows in the Midlands and London.

This month we have Regina Spektor with the theme to the film Prince Caspian (but don’t let that put you off, it is really rather wonderful), Mermaid Skeletons with a great song that’s worth it for the chorus alone, the Agnostic Mountain Gospel Choir, who are as good as their name if not more so and finally the legendary Chip Taylor with the thought-provoking Former American Soldier.
Great listening, and if you like the tracks, buy the albums!
