Ten Songs Podcast #9
Oi oi, this is the first of two, possibly three shows focusing on punk and hardcore my home city of Southampton. Ten Songs #10 will be a retrospective show featuring classic tracks from local DIY bands from between 2000-2007. This show however features a set of some of the current hardcore bands who are playing shows and putting out records – I’m playing an unreleased track from Whole In The Head, a Goodwife song for their forthcoming 7 inch as well tracks from demos by Defier & Like Grenades. I wanted to show that there are still plenty of bands locally worth checking out before we get into the history lesions. This town aint dead yet, you know? Yeah.
As well as these tracks, I’m also playing songs from Paul Bariebeau/Giner Alford, Radio Faces, Pure Country Gold, Lemuria and Get Serious.
If you've never checked out the show before, Ten Songs is a monthly DIY home-made "radio show" that you can listen to as an MP3. I play a mix of punk, hardcore, garage and folk. You can stream, download or subscribe to the show using itunes or other podcast catchers. Myspace spam filters are being a shit again, so google search “Ten Songs podcast” to find the blog website.
We're just making sure that everyone knows that our debut album 'Horses For Courses' is available to buy from our little record label's online shop:
http://www.donttellclare.co.uk/shop.htm
Its been selling faster than we expected, and we currently only have around a quarter of our stock left - so we thought we'd better you all know that if you want a copy then now would be a good time to pick one up! If you buy it from the link above then you're buying it direct from us, the label aren't taking a cut - so its a bit like Fair Trade for struggling musicians.
International mail-order is available, just follow the instructions.
Thank you very much, and sorry for making a mess of your profile. If its any kind of consolation, we don't have a MySpace bot, so I'm leaving these comments the old fashioned way. Three -and-a-half thousand of them. My life is so exciting.
Lots of loveDas Wanderlustxxx
