SWEATERVEST 2007!

Announcing SWEATERVEST! The largest and oldest Regional Recycled Rainbow event. SWEATERVEST. Every year people walk into the suburbs trucking in baloney and mountain dew to experience and become a part of the magic of SWEATERVEST! The Oldest And Largest Regional Recycled Rainbow!

SWEATERVEST has the explicit permission of Recycled Rainbow to call itself a regional event and in doing so has resigned most of its intellectual property to Recycled Rainbow. Tickets to SWEATERVEST are FREE OF CHARGE as it is held in the suburbs.

All art structures must only be made WITH YOUR MIND. Making SWEATERVEST the most environmentally sound regional Recycled Rainbow EVER. Costumes must be made out of YOUR MIND as well as anything else you bring with you except for one baloney sandwich without a wrapper or saran wrap, and one mountain dew to be contained in a reusable plastic bottle you will not throw away.

YOU ARE ONLY PERMITTED TO WEAR ONE ACTUAL COSTUME ITEM IF YOU CHOOSE...

A SWEATERVEST, OF COURSE!

ALL CAMPING AT SWEATERVEST must be IMAGINARY CAMPING. Requiring imaginary equipment and imaginary survival tactics.

To participate in SWEATERVEST, simply follow the above rules and arrive at a large suburban housing development. Walk from 2pm until 4pm around the development eating your baloney (or veggie baloney, for the vegetarians) sandwich and drinking your mountain dew.

YOU MUST IMAGINE that all the houses, people and activities you encounter in the housing development you walk in are in fact very intricate, tricky and very clever art installations, performance art and theater. All interactivity with the art MUST BE IN YOUR MIND!

IMAGINE you are interacting with the actors and sculptures in the way that you imagine they are presented. Imagine you are talking to the performers, climbing the art structures, yelling and screaming and FREAKING OUT.

This is the week!


If you are looking for artistic direction, please consider working
your outfit, clothing, art piece, or performance into this chosen
theme.

Friday is the cleanup/setup/prep party starting at 7 pm, followed by
performances, DJ'ing, and an outflow of creative energy, which
continues strong until Sunday morning. Dressing up on both days is
encouraged.

If you haven't already done so, please review the FAQ and First
Timer's Guide on the Recycled Rainbow website.

If you are inviting someone along, be sure they have read it also, and
kindly direct them to sign up to this distribution list so that they
can be informed of future events.

As always, BYOB, and ideally, bring your own cooler with ice (we can't
guarantee we will have them available for you behind the bar.)

Bring a vegetarian food item to bring if you'd like to come here and
eat around 7 pm Saturday.

By now (or VERY soon) you should know:
- how you are going to contribute to the event
- costume / outfit (I know they aren't required, but the event is so
much more fun when you all have something unusual about your
appearance)
- a creative way to contribute to the theme
