wow! it's not everyday a band that's GOOD sends a friend request. lyrically you guys are excellent and musically you're so fresh and original. i love it, really. thanks for the add and the great music. i rarely use the word epic as an adjective, but it's only fitting here. kudos. <3

So, my girlfriend received a copy of Citadels. She had never heard the music of Galt Aureus before. Just a few days later this is what she has to say(she posted this elsewhere and felt it inadequate to show to GA, but I think it was nice):

"Every time I listen to this album, I literally find something new or some new story in the lyrics. Our Own Versailles is currently my all-time favorite, but Citadels, Before The Fall, Spiral Stile, Eight, The Armada, and At Dawn are also my favorites (okay wow I just realized that I listed like, the entire album as my favorite songs. Way to go...okay...the whole freaking album is the best thing I've ever heard in my life and I'll swear to it...it's official...my former favorite band Chevelle has dropped to numero dos).

When you stare at the artwork you discover things that you never saw before. For example, today I just noticed the guillotine...I'm usually so observant. It's wonderful. The best way to describe it is like it's a collective symphony of poetic verse and romance that takes your breath away and makes you see all that is right with the world. That better? I feel so inadequate trying to describe such greatness. Galt Aureus combines lyrics that will make you do a double and even triple take, beautiful music chords, and raw emotion evident in Saher & Susan's voices that nearly bring tears to your eyes. Truly. WOW.

Know how to appreciate it, for it is true art."

This music has brought us closer together. (Yeah, we both write novel length comments hahaha)

I wish you could have seen the smile on my face when I saw the package in my mailbox. Even though I had heard all songs but Before the Fall, I wanted to listen through the entire album to get the progression up to that song. My girlfriend called during The Cavalcade. The tension kept building. Delayed gratification is nice. I finally listened to it; lyrics in hand. I was blown away. This was the missing link that perfected the album. The alternations between Susan/Saher singing to tell the story of lovers being pulled apart by the state and fighting back was a great experience.

At Dawn is my current favorite. The piano opening. The lyrics of a duel setting up for the faster, harder rock that starts with the title of the song. I love pieces that transition like this and make sense with the theme of the song.

Spiral Stiles and Our Own Versailles have both been favorites at one point since 9.9.9. I'm sure after I continuously listen to all your songs for a few years I'll settle on something! Then keep listening of course.

Thank you -- for being my favorite musical experience. The entirety of your music far surpasses anything I've listened to in my entire life.

I've rambled on a bit. I hope I didn't misinterpret anything too badly. I'm just ecstatic and had to share. :)

Listening to the song "Citadels" is like watching a movie. It paints out this perfect image in my mind.

It's been fantabulous! Took my week in July, shot fireworks, ate ribs and drank lots. Also got to visit DC and do the whole tourist thing, which I relish. Took 1600 pics, including me mugging with the AL flag in front of many of our monuments. Had a blast. Goin to infiltrate a hippie/bluegrass fest in FL pretty soon, lookin forward to that. What y'all got upcoming?
