Thanks for the friendship & God Bless New Orleans!

American Refugee
The more I worked on this song, the bigger it grew. When Hurricane Katrina ripped up New Orleans, Mississippi and Alabama, it tore open our hearts too. What did we see? It’s the four year anniversary now. Has enough been done?

Add this poignant techno love song to your myspace playlist

“Techno Love” features keyboardist Richard Larsen from UNA, and an amazing voice over performance describing a Sensual Massage Session. The song provides a perfect vehicle to express Charles Xavier’s style of a sampling music maze. The song is only available on www.myspace.com/thexman

Happy Note Records released "The XMan Cometh -- Expect the Unexpected," The CD earned nationwide radio airplay and is currently available digitally and at leading retailers such as Barnes & Noble, Virgin MegaStores, Amoeba and Rasputin Records or online at www.Amazon.com and at www.iTunes.com Order the physical CD with the 12-page accompanying booklet as a unique creative present for someone special.

I just wanted to drop in on a rainy day and say hi. I hope everything is great with you. We are excited, D.B. Pacini's youth/YA fantasy novel, THE LOOSE END OF THE RAINBOW, is being published in one week. Actually, she’s so excited that she is driving me a little nuts. She is donating some books and 10% of the proceeds to a charitable organization that helps Native American youth.

I also wanted to tell you about our free Starry Night Creative Artists Community. We started it last summer and it is growing like a weed, becoming international. It is open to creative artists of all mediums and we showcase organizations and individuals that help others. It is a cool community. I hope you’ll check it out. Just click on this link and then scroll down to: Starry Night Creative Artists Community: www.astarrynightproductions.com

Latest review for DIVERTING THE BUDDHA (The Skewering of Democracy)

“This complex and deftly plotted novel examines a massive assault on a people crying out for democracy. It chronicles a time when American efforts to build democracy produced an apocalyptic disaster. While the author spares none of the grisly details of this repression, his special powers of language also brings his characters and their complex world vividly to life. The story leads its readers inside pagodas, university halls and military posts, all venues with which the novelist is perfectly familiar. The major theme of this novel is betrayal—of democratic aspirations, of the American public, of truth itself.”

Hey.

I haven't been by in a while and thought I'd stop in and say hi.

The funniest thing happened yesterday. One of my friends called me and asked when the Launch Party was. He got the date wrong and was at the venue one month early. I guess he's ready!

What's happening in your world?

vicious books

Sep 27, 2008 2:48 PM

It's about losing your job and life in one fell swoop. It's about facing an unknown future during an economic crisis. It's about a generation trapped between one that won't let go, and another nipping at their heels. It's about facing down your age, and place in the american dream...or is it a nightmare? It's about degrading from a target market to merely a target. It's about hiring freezes that feel like an ice age, high school reunions, lesbian strippers, copious amounts of marijuana. consumer guerillas, tattoos, corporate america, coffee, drinking, love, sex,a gold-toothed thug named mo-mo and the eternal quest to sleep in. It's about you. It's about me. It's about your best friend and worst enemy.

It's what you should be reading right now. It's called Rorschach's Ribs by Macus Eder, from vicious books. (www.viciousbooks.com)

Following My Heart, a memoir, chronicles a life-journey of self-discovery that encompasses sex, spirituality, psychedelics, political activism and literature. It is an unconventional story of love and hope in difficult times.

The City, my seventh novel, spans nearly fifty years in the lives of Theo Demetrios, his sister ArtD, their parents, lovers and friends from beat era San Francisco to the twenty-first century. The title also alludes to the ancestral home of the Demetrios family.

Both books, published by Persona Press, are now available in bookstores including Books Inc, 2275 Market Street, San Francisco.
