Book tickets here.

Featuring Fyfe Dangerfield (from Guillemots), Gannets posit an alternative jazz history in which 30's swing developed straight into a combined form of the free jazz and fusion movements, without any of the intervening decades.

'Gannets'
Fyfe Dangerfield - keyboards + electronics
Alex J Ward - clarinet
Christopher Cundy - bass clarinet
Dominic Lash - double bass
Steve Noble - drums

Welcome To the Family. Real recognizes Real. It's in our nature to draw to close to what is familiar. Yet we strive to be defiant and break through this mis conceptualized media. That glorifies junk, as music! Please check out our movement to revive music to it's natural element. When music was about expression of the soul. Not hooks and gimmicks, scheming to make money. There is no art in the music on heavy rotation. Poetry Over Music promotes the Real artists, the Real music, and Real talent. Please download Volume I, share it with your friends, family, co-workers. Support the real artists, the real poets and real music.

Blessings,

Poetry Over Music Family

NOIR

Sep 16, 2007 1:05 PM

Wow - you guys are really going for such a specific filmic sound. I'm very proud of your focus and imagination. You really nailed the Film Noir Vibe more than anything I've heard to date. Really beautiful in all the mournful, creepy ways I enjoy.

We just got back from a 2-week tour in Nairobi, Kenya where most of our time was solar and rejoicing. However there was one night that we did explore the seedy underbelly of the city. To a fact, it was far too obvious and on full display to qualify for a mystery. The full detail of stories concerning orphans, Massai warriors, arms-length proximity to lions, the coffee trade, Bush Rovers and dreamy affairs can be found at NOIR's Africa Blog.

You can listen to some more music here.

Inspiring work, my new friends.
