I appreciate your humor, but I really did get to meet the Colonel on my 21st birthday. My husband and I both worked at KFC in Weston, WV ...my husband was the manager at the time. One of the owners, John Wilson, took his girlfriend, my husband and I to the birthday party being given for the Colonel. It was on the Belle of Louisville, first time I had ever been on a boat...we were waiting to get on board when The Colonel pulled up in a white Limisouine...and there he was! Bigger than life! After all those boxes I had packed, every cup, every day, here he was in real life looking exactlly like all those pictures of him I had seen! I was very excited! They had an enormus birthday cake on board, and we went down the river and came back. It was my 21st birthday, never forget it! We got to go through the tour at the muesum and saw the first pot he cooked Chicken in...and then...there he was, just sitting there, and me, of all people went up and talked to him...scared to death! He was so nice and I told him that my Mom wanted me to give him a kiss for her and he said "OK" ! He had soft lips, by the way! Anyway, another lady was there and asked him to say "Cheese" while she took his picture and he said, "No, say Chicken...cause cheese is constipating!" It was one of the high lights of my life! I worked there for 10 years, my (EX) husband still works there and my son has worked there since he was 15 and is now 34. Thank you! Penny Mick Newhouse
