SIX NATION STATE
Living local legends. They used to number five, but they now number four.
The band supported The Holloways, and received acclaim from XFM, Radio 1, Dermot O’Leary and Jonathan Ross. Six Nation State used to play 250+ gigs in a year, not only in traditional venues but also adding shows at their fans' request in homes, schools, offices and even the Avon canteen
Their record label went bust. Most of the band moved to London. They are still living the dream. They have been recording most of 2009. They coming out the studio to play a one off at their favourite Reading venue-that being Rising Sun Arts Centre www.myspace.com/sixnationstatetheband
SIXTY WATT BAYONETS
Four young kids from centre of Reading.Lead singer Penny is a History school teacher by day, punk banshee at night. Their shows are becoming legendary. Penny spends the whole gig in the crowd, singing and dancing-in your face! Sixty Watt Bayonets were selected by Radio 1 to play Reading/Leeds Festival this year. They were the only Reading band to play the both festivals this year. They released their debut record in the summer and it was picked up by XFM, Radio 1 and BBC Radio Berkshire. www.myspace.com/sixtywattbayonets
MIDIMIDIS
Local 8 Bit punks. This two piece do not sound like anyone else on planet earth. Championed by XFM;Radio 1. 2010 should be their year.

THE WOOKIES
Prog hippy nonsense from the Oxford Road,Reading. Championed by Steve Lamacq and Stuart Maconie (6 Music) .They released their debut single earlier this year.It features the classic In The Forest. Which is one of the songs of the year. English prog masturbation for the masses
HUNTING THE SHY
Were once a three piece and sounded like Spaceman 3 having a drinking session with the Mary Chain, whilst Codeine were serving the drinks. They now employ a drummer, so they now number four. The smell of Seattle is here. If Kurt Cobain and John Peel were alive they would be both huge fans of this Reading band. The once manager of Libertines,Primals and Kills has been getting down at their shows.
www.myspace.com/hunttheshy
THE STELLAR THIEVES
Four sexy young chaps from Sandhurst,Berkshire. Hungary and keen;they deliver sassy well thought out indie pop ear fodder for the masses.
VETOES
This is their debut show!We are excited about these lot. They have already been recordings with local record producer legend Adam Whittaker (Amy Winehouse/Lilly Allen/ZuZu and the Saw Doctors!) If you are missing Libor Spacek, then you have just found their replacement.

ILLEGIMATE SONS OF THE KING
Time Out claim they are Jamie T fronting Arctic Monkeys. Whilst Hype Magazine state they create a fresh sound, with songs/hooks that should be sung at 4am in the morning. Tipped by the Daily Mirror. To our ears they remind us for great old local bands like Pappa Brittle or EB and the System. A mix match of rap and guitars. Their cd is a huge breath of fresh air. This is their debut Reading show. Join on and enjoy the party. www.myspace.com/iskmusic

THE RACE One of the most successful bands to come out of Reading over the last few years. Signed to Shifty Disco (the label that gave birth to Young Knives), they released their debut album in 2006 and it pricked up the ears of any punter or media heard it. It was a very, very fine debut album. The Race are one of the best examples of such an exciting Reading music scene. They have played many a festival all over Europe-including Reading Festival in 2006. Been championed by the likes of Radio 1/XFM/6 Music and many a fine music publication. This is a very rare one off to see a band of this status in such a small venue. Their second album is ready for release in October 2008. It was was produced by Dave Eringa (Kyle Minogue/Manic Street Preachers) He has taken the band to a new higher level. Sounding like U2 having a fist fight with Arcade Fire. The Race are now a f--king great band! www.myspace.com/raceuk
