I am doing set design!

Alamo Basement and Insurgent Theatre Ambush present:

Play in a Day 3: The Musical
May 10th, 8pm $10
The Tenth Street Theatre
628 N 10th St
Milwaukee,WI

The only theatre people in the history of the world (as far as we can tell) ballsy enough to try and create a great big full length play from absolutely nothing in only 24 little hours are upping the ante this year. In addition to a handful of writers creating a completely original script relay-style, a dozen or so actors rehearsing parts as the script is being written, and a crew of tech people constructing a set with only the foggiest notion of what the writers will have the actors do with it, this year, they've assembled lyricists and musicians to create songs for the characters to burst into at the key moments of great dramatic intensity.

Everything comes completely from scratch, no stock characters, no preconceived melodies, no formulas, just pure unbridled creative energy.

Sounds like an utter disaster waiting to happen, right? Not so! The last two years this team of ruthless invincible theatre monsters pulled it all off sans music with amazing success and critical acclaim ("one of the most thoroughly enjoyable productions to hit the stage in greater Milwaukee this season" - Russ Bickerstaff, Vital Souce Online, June 2007).

Come and see if they can handle the new challenge of Play in a Day: The Musical!

Dear Alamo Basement, I really love your Seal. Also, I regret to inform you that I will not be able to attend your play in a day, which I am seriously devastated about. However, I do not want to be known as "who was that inconsiderate bitch in the audience with the most adorable, beautiful child I have ever seen that wouldn't shut the *#$^ up? Man, that was annoying!" And I am not ready to get a sitter for the babe yet so...tape it and let's have a popcorn night where it is okay if my babe cries and I can watch your production without fear. Also, nice article in the sheperd. I will miss ya'll on Saturday and the best of luck. I am sure it will be awesome just like last year.

ok my little udder puddles, we are all bat shit crazy.
thanks again for the following:

1. stress relief. never realized how writing, rehearsing and producing one show in the midst of another could be so theraputic. i will now be replacing my yoga and mediation routine with 24 plays.
2. once again fulfilling my type-casted sterotype of being an unbalanced LSD hooked booze hounding wiccan hippie.
3. allowing me one final performance with you lovely people in this lovely town.
