NOTES from 9/1/09 meeting:
T4P Oct 17, 2009 Healthcare Not Warfare Planning 2nd meeting (Sept. 1, 2009) – various planning activities were discussed and volunteer leaders were called for. All activities (music, speakers, etc.) should be considered with how they can bring additional people to the rally and involve more parts of the Austin-area community.
* Rally Time – 3-5pm (UT has an 11am game).* City Hall Permit – Sylvia Benini will work on this* Program Lostics/Stage Mgt – Steven Gross will help with this* Program Speakers – Charlie Jackson will head this up, but needs help. Various speakers considered to speak out against the war and for healthcare. Several names discussed, including headliners . No elected officials or political candidates will be invited to speak, keeping this strictly non-partisan.
* Program Music – Joe Carr? Sylvia will contact him and ask if he will head this up and will also talk to her contacts. Several entertainers discussed. Suggestion to also have a gospel choir from an Eastside church.Also, need to make arrangements for sound system.* Media (Pre-, Post-, during) – Alyssa Burgin/Sylvia will work and m
