Hello old chap, how are you?  Myself, I'm recovering from an operation where the good Doctor (or barber-surgeon) has removed an unpleasant growth from my nose. This growth was "the rest of me" I think, because I've been sent to the lab for testing and the nose got a cup of tea.  In my convalescence and reunited with my nose, I remain unable to spell convaless sense and have two curious puncture wounds in my nose from the agonising needles of anaesthetic.  Ironic that these hurt and the flashing blade doesn't don't you think?  It appears as though I have been got by a tiny vampire bat.  Heigh-ho.

Best regards my friend,

The Saw Lady

May 4, 2009 1:15 AM

Hi Al,

I would like to share some exciting news: after a long application process, the NYC Musical Saw Festival was

approved
by the Guinness Book of Records to attempt to break the current world record for the 'Largest Musical Saw

Ensemble'.
The current world record (set in Poland last year) is 27 musical saw players playing together.
Could we set a new world record on July 18th? We need your help for it!
Please join us and be part of a Guinness World Record breaking attempt at the 7th annual NYC Musical Saw Festival:
When: Saturday, July 18th, 2pm
Where: Trinity Church, 37th street corner of 31st Avenue, Astoria (Queens), NYC.
Admission: $10
Info: www.MusicalSawFestival.org

For the Guinness World Record attempt all sawists will be playing 2 pieces together (in what we call the 'Chorus of

the Saws'):
Ave Maria/Schubert - accompanied by church organ
Over the Rainbow - accompanied by piano
The 'Chorus of the Saws' will be conducted by Scott Munson.

Hope to see you there, and please - pass the info on - we need to get as many musical saw players to participate as

possible to set a new Guinness World Record!

All the best,

Natalia

Dearest Dick Lover!
My dear son and his naughty band have released a fitting tribute to the end of George Bush's reign of terror with their animated filmclip George Bush's Chicken. Starring George W at home on the ranch with his muslem chicken Ned as well as guest appearances from some of his closest circle including Osama Bin Laden, Paris Hilton, Saddam Hussien, Barack Obama and Mr Ed, this is the behind the scenes insight the world has long waited for. I hope you enjoy it and am inspired to forward it to all your other friends in the last days of W’s war n terror.

Jan 8, 2009 11:49 PM

Hi Al,

How are you? Are you playing your saw much these days?
I wanted to let you know that last summer's Musical Saw Festival made a top 10 list. It's number 2 on WFMU Radio DJ Bronwyn's list of Best Things of 2008.
Here is what WFMU Radio said:
"2. The NYC Musical Saw Festival. I’ll say it again: Hearing Satie’s “Gymnopedie” played by a musical saw and a handbell choir was one of the highpoints of my life. Seriously. The piece for musical saw and Japanese music box by Scott R. Munson was outstanding, too."
You can find the WFMU list here: http://blog. wfmu. org/freeform/2009/01/pretty-good-the. html

This year’s NYC Musical Saw Festival is scheduled for July 18, 2009, 2pm. It sure would be great if you could participate!

Happy 2009,

Natalia
