synthesisers always are worth their price..but i hate how all the moog's cost so much...simply because they are made by moog.

i much prefer hardware too! i only use software for the synths i cant afford XD.
i use the EMS synthi VCS3, a Novation X-Station, and occasionally i borrow a Moog Modular 5...A SMALL ONE! HAHA
and then i have the rest as VST's

well..i use it predominantly for string sounds. "introduction" in particular.
yes i have wanted a moog for a very long time..im currently chasing a korg MS20

unfortunately not..but i have played one. I am very good at making perfect emulations of the polymoog sound.

I do hope you get to find the Theremin film, at the very least Leon is worth reading up on as he was quite a character. But the film is wonderful, if only to see his eyes. He had amazing madman-genius eyes which pierce through the camera all these years later, he must have been extraordinary to witness. One can only imagine the sort of person who would have dreamed up an instrument like that!
Truly, the sound is beyond compare, in the right hands it can sound halfway between a violin and the most beautiful singer. Most instruments can't be properly duplicated on a synthesizer, I think that synths are fabulous but ought to be appreciated in their own right rather than as for instrument replication, at which they nearly always fail.

A friend of mine, who also built himself one, told me about the film and I looked it up and was lucky enough to be able to rent it from Netflix. It's called 'Theremin: An Electronic Odyssey' and was made in 1993, I've no idea if it's available anywhere though.
They are such an extraordinary instrument, the sound is amazing and watching someone play one is quite an experience, they are so ethereal and impossible. I fell in love the first time I ever saw one.

ah, too bad. I know Patrick Wolf made one himself but apparently it wasn't easy.
I'm entirely obsessed with them as I just watched the documentary about their creator, Leon Theremin who was basically a mad scientist who was kidnapped by the Russian government. He had been working on a full-body theremin with ballet dancers, where every single movement of your body would create a sound, man I wish someone would try and re-create that one.
