Vega’s 5-hour solo sets are born out of all night marathons at Larry Levan’s Paradise Garage and David Mancuso’s Loft. Dance Ritual is a slowly-building crescendos of bumpy house music, Afro-Cuban influenced tribal rhythms, and fervent soulful vocals, climaxing with a crowd full of satisfied yet quizzical expressions, wondering where the night went, why the sun is out, and why their feet hurt so much. I would recommend wearing some comfortable shoes. --- Vega is one half of the legendary production duo “Masters at Work,” and is responsible for some of the most definitive sounds of the 90’s. Aside from his original work, he’s remixed everyone from Madonna to Earth Wind & Fire. He helped define the Chicago house sound alongside such legends as Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy, at a time when The Warehouse was the size of The Vagabond’s bar room, and house music was a term unknown outside of Chicago. And this isn’t just relevant to their studio work: they scoff at the hefty baggage fees which have driven many to leave their bulky equipment at home and pack all their gear neatly into a carry-on laptop case. As of late, their oft-remixed “In The Morning” has enjoyed a lot of recognition, both in the record store and on the dance floor. But it was their 2003 release “Birthday” - functioning as a sly IDM intro to progressive-house superstar Sander Kleinenberg’s 2004 mixtape This is Everybody Too - that really put them on the map. We would especially like to thank all of our friends for coming to our performance. To our surprise we made a lot of news fans and that means the world to us, Thank you kindly. We were amazed that Alan from Respectable Street traveled to see us and for that we were very pleased. We have some new tracks going to be released shortly but our main focus is our EP release, the hours are closing in on us and an EP release party is in the works.
