We are really proud to have just released a wonderful satirical record by Margo Guryan called 16 Words. The words of the song are taken from the lie that President Bush made in his State of The Union Address in 2003 that led us directly to war with Iraq. The former ambassador to Iraq JOE C WILSON - who is also the man sent by the CIA in 2002 to Africa to investigate the allegations that Saddam was trying to restart his nuclear programme - recently (and rather amazingly!!) got in touch with us with a quote about the song;- "16 Words" is a hauntingly effective anti war anthem that uses George Bush's own words to condemn him. A listener of this song, so powerful in its stark simplicity, comes away understanding that the blood on Bush's hands stems from the lies that came out of his mouth." Joe Wilson. Well we can't say fairer than that....we have got the song to the 'heart' of the USA adminstration (perhaps even Mr Bush has seen it now......)!!! I recently applied for a passport as part of my next two quarters of Independent Learning Contracts (Spring to go to the G8 as part of a medic team in Germany and Summer to go to Mexico and conduct interviews concerning the G8’s influence on that region) these will complete my BA degree through The Evergreen State College. My application was denied. The Department of State said they wanted Complete Employment Records (including employer I.D. numbers), Complete Educational Records, Complete Residency Records, Complete Tax Records and the names, addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, dates of death, dates of marriage of ALL my family members. I have contacted my attorney and he has sent a letter, as have I and my primary instructor for the spring contract. So far this has met with no response from the Department of State. I am asking that each and every one of you that appreciate freedom and resist oppression write a letter of support and send it to: United States Department of State Colorado Passport Agency 3151 South Vaughn Way, Suite 600 Cherry Creek Place III Aurora, CO 80014 Protesting the unconstitutional use of the United States Intelligence services to intimidate law-abiding citizens. Through them denying my passport they have not only caused the two contracts to be nullified but have delayed graduate school for a whole year (at best) and caused mad chaos with the financial aid office. This has placed me in a very difficult and expensive situation as I have already purchased $1110.30 worth of non-refundable airline tickets and made many arrangements in and around Germany for the upcoming G8 Convention. I mean on one hand i believe that its an indviduals choice to where whatever they choose for whatever reason!....... but i also feel its kinda silly for a religion to impose such dress codes on women....not that any other religion is anybetter....but this is obvious......just like its wrong to brainwash a child into believing that all muslims are bad.....its incorrect to make these women believe that God wishes u to be like that.....also if the men want to support these wimmin....they should wear veils just like the women all day!....dont u think?
