Right now I'm standing on the deck of the Arctic Sunrise - my home for the next four months. I'm part of a Greenpeace expedition to the Arctic to document the impacts of global warming. Some of the world’s leading climate scientists will be coming onboard with me to gather first-hand data about the devastating effects that global warming is already having on glaciers, ice sheets and sea ice.





This is what Greenpeace does best: we’re bearing witness to the greatest environmental threat of our lifetime and showing the world the urgent need for deep cuts in global warming pollution. Right now, even the worst-case predictions of how global warming will affect the planet are being outstripped by events on the ground, in the water and on the ice. This is happening right now and the world absolutely HAS to know.

I'm proud to be a part of this expedition, but you don't have to be on a ship in the Arctic to make a difference.


TAKE ACTION: Tell President Obama: Yes he CAN stop global warming!


In less than 6 months, world leaders will gather in Copenhagen, Denmark to decide YOUR future when they hammer out an agreement for lowering the level of global warming pollution. The debate in Washington over global warming legislation has shown us that the coal, oil and gas industries mean more to members of Congress than your vote or your future. Our fate is now in the hands of President Obama. It is absolutely crucial that the President hears from you over the next 6 months leading up to the global warming negotiations in Copenhagen.

You can help right now by asking the EPA to regulate greenhouse gases. Doing so will give President Obama the kind of support and backing he will need to demand deep cuts in global warming pollutants at the Copenhagen negotiations.
