Mr. Seger, my name is Isaac Hedrick.
I am 19 years old and I live in Tennessee. I grew up listening to you. My father had your greatest hits CDs and I remember singing along with him and my sister in his old truck when he picked us up for the weekend in the mid 90's. Good times. As the years went by, my music tastes have grown and flourished, but one constant has always remained. I still love that old type of rock 'n roll. Nowadays, whenever I'm down, I'll put on the very same greatest hits CD that my dad had, and is now mine. I'll listen to your smoky voice and masterful lyrics, and it gets me through. I know this page is most likely run by your record company, but I hope somehow this message gets through to you.

I want to thank you for making the music you've made, and for continuing to churn out greatness. It's an integral part of my life, and it will remain as such.

The way to godliness is in not tying to be godly. To be godly means to be like God. No one can be just like God, but we can have some resemblance to Him. But this is not our purpose. It’s the natural result of another purpose. Our sole purpose is to become forgiven. If we can know that we are forgiven, this will revolutionize our lives. The way to become forgiven is to simply trust that Jesus took our punishment on the cross and then rose from the grave. The whys and hows of the cross are super profound, but it is not necessary to understand the deep things of God to be forgiven. Believing the fact of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus is all you must worry about. The wonderful meanings of all that Jesus has done are revealed to us over time. Simple faith in the cross will give us encouragement and hope. When we are free and clear before God, we can spread that hope to others. Believe me, they want to have this hope in such a world. So stop trusting in those charlatans in leisure suits. Trust in the meek and lowly One, who came to be our Savior. Don’t go to those religious buildings to get forgiveness. Go to the cross!

When people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I told them Bob Segers wife. I loved you then and I love you now. Your music touched my soul as a teen and is the music that still plays in the slideshow of what has become my life. Who knew one person could touch someone they have never met for their entire life. I heard Jody girl at 15 but now at 49 I am her. Thanks for the heads up!

I added a comment..but somehow it didn't show up. Lookin forward to the new CD and can't wait for vol 2, 3, 4 . Keep em comin Bob!!! :D How about a tour next year?!! Saw Face the Promise @ 5 shows, 3 of which were in my hometown where only you can rock us Detroit style!! ;)
Also joined the Silver Bullet Fan Club as soon as it was announced..received my tee but not the CD!! Hope to resolve that ASAP.

Can't wait for the new cd Bob, although I've heard all but the unreleased ones. The snippets I've heard ROCK but I didn't expect anything less!!! Will you tour again? That would be awesome if ya came back for one more!! Saw "Face the Promise" for 5 shows, 3 of which were in my hometown. Volume 1 soon..can't wait for 2, 3, 4??
