Helping us to see off 2009 with a bang will be the fabulous Piney Gir, touring in support of wonderful new album 'The Yearling'. As if that wasn't enough we also have the excellent Listeners and there will be one more live guest plus the usual mix on fine Americana & Alt-Country records between bands. Doors open at 8pm and entry is just £4.

Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for the add and thanks for including Valparaiso Bound on your player. It's from our latest release "The Willows Suite" which is a set of songs inspired by the book The Wind In The Willows by Kenneth Grahame. The song is part sea shanty and part description of the appeal of the countryside, and is a conversation in song between Ratty and a seafaring rat from the chapter Wayfarers All, in which the seafarer's tales almost tempt Ratty into travelling away from his beloved river.
We appreciate the support,
Best wishes, Barry and Ronnie, The Southbound Attic Band

Dear Americana-UK, Thanks so much for the friendship. You have a wonderful group of songs here. I particularly enjoyed "Pass You By" and "We've Had Everything". Beautiful fiddle work and harmonies throughout. I hear some of the wonderful qualities I love so much in The Waterboys and Son Volt. I invite you to come on over and give a listen to my songs sometime. I've posted all ten tracks to my someday-to-be-released CD "East of Eden". It's a mixture of folk, country, and what I like to call "folk and roll". I'd be very open to any feedback you might have. Thanks for the fine tunes. Best of luck, Cap Wilhelm-Safian

DEVIL'S BRIDGE

PRESS QUOTES

“Boasting
a delicious 50's twang...an increasingly accomplished songwriter in
full flight”. (Phil Alexander, Editor-in-chief. MOJO)

“Christopher
Rees has honed his narrative chops to fine effect. All splash echo and
rockabilly riffs...he makes room for fat dollops of bluegrass, country
and rustic folk, including a stomping banjo straight from the Blue
Ridge Mountains”. UNCUT ****

“A spit and sawdust holler that's
as close to a Southern hell-fire preacher as you can get hailing from
Cardiff. Very, very good”. MOJO (Live review from The Great Escape
Festival)
