After you've finished here, you may like to hear this folk-carol on myspace...
Poem 230 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse
(see my blog for details):
CHRISTMAS SUNG SIMPLY

As gospellers have said,
Beneath signalling skies,
On land dusty to tread,
A trough in a stable
Was the strawy first-bed
Of a divine baby -
The forgiving Godhead.

A season for new hope -
There then and here now;
The yuletide of goodwill -
There then and here now.

In respect of this chance,
Beneath bright or dark skies,
Faith's the star that we glance
Attending Christ's churches
And trying to enhance,
With singing and ritual,
Our God-loving stance.

After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace...

Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse
(please see my blog):
TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001

Where traditions are not so rare;
    Sea, country and works scent the air;
A multitude of monuments,
    Planted tubs and patterned pavements.

The longish pedestrian malls;
    The remnants of defensive walls;
Historic buildings are a gauge
    Of the respect for heritage.

Wheat, rape and pines in the fields;
    Estuaries guarded by shields;
Long sandy beaches and wide scenes;
    Romantic-ruin go-betweens.

Rivers in parts licked by trees,
    Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries,
And crossed by practical delights -
    Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.

Fine churches headed at Durham;
    Football kits ad infinitum;
Kept castles - one for study;
    Masonry behind masonry.

And, with moulding-works out that way,
It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?

Hey Bob. Thanks for the friendship. I couldn't agree with you more about the comment you posted on Pete's page. I pine for Phil Ochs and Woody all the time. The voices are out there, but it's hard to hear them above the humm and drone of the big money machines. Thank god for this magic computer box! I enjoyed your Ballad of Harvey Milk. Did you see that President Obama gave him the medal of freedom? It's about time. No? If you're in need of some inspiration, come on over and check out my songs sometime. I just finished my CD East of Eden and it has a few cuts dedicated to you and me and all the other fools who still think we could fix this planet. "Frontiers of Sorrow" and "Winter's Seed" are dedicated to you and others like you. Keep on keepin' on my brother. Perhaps our folksong army can help push this whole enterprise in a new direction.  Cap Wilhelm-Safian

CountryHome Forum, http://groups.myspace.com/CountryHomeMagazine , is one of the biggest Forum for country music in Europe and part of CountryHome, www.countryhome.de , Germany's Premier Online Country Music Magazine.

CountryHome Forum have more than 5,800 members. Each news you submit to CountryHome Forum will released to my weekly Newsletter with more than 60,000 readers.

Please submit your artist news and events to CountryHome Forum to help your artists to get well known better in Europe. If you do not have the time to submit your artist news and events by yourself, please send it me to: Ch.Lamitschka@t-online.de and I will submit them by myself to CountryHome Forum.

I know that many artists from North America don't have their music videos uploaded to German video websites. The most popular websites are MyVideo.de and ClipFish.de. That means your European audience does not have the chance to find them.

I understand that most of you don't speak German and are not able to upload videos because of the language barrier. If you would like me to upload your videos to the German video websites, please let me know.

Thanks

I recorded the above video of me reciting my poem "The World Is Planned" at this year's May Day demo in Manchester. It's not the most tuneful of my musical poetry, but stick with it - the lyrics are important!

You may also like to read a short document I wrote on Towards a Theory of Everything which is my attempt to unify quantum mechanics and relativity theory by taking free will decisions into account! I'm not a physics expert but my knowledge of artificial intelligence and politics (including Marxism which is incompatible with free will) helped me come to some important conclusions about how the world and minds work!

David Franks: Walkabout…

May 9, 2009 4:43 PM

(Hi: enjoyed my visit.)

After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace...

Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse
(please see my blog):
WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN

Once drove an old sedan, up north,
From a place in Sydney to Cairns;
Then to Kuranda I went forth,
By train, to look without set plans.

I browsed through the trendy market,
With fresh fruits of tropical kind;
Walked to the creek through lush thicket -
Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.

I dined in a scenic cafe;
Then, outside, as I wrote for yen,
Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey,
You go walkabout with your pen.”

Request or question, I don’t know -
Assured voices, elderly men.
That’s now several years ago,
And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
