I will someday go to Goma in the Congo. Please watch this. This is where our refugees are from. Since this was aired things became more unstable in this region. They need our prayers and help. Please help us help refugees. The UNHRC only protects them in camps, but they are still suffering. Malaria, diseases, poverty, lack of education and starvation are huge problems. Help us make a positive change to refugees in Africa. Beth, Think Humanity

Got a soul? Here is a fashion-forward and socially responsible shopping options for you:
We Are Overlooked, (www.weareoverlooked.com) designs cool T-shirts to promote and raise money for humanitarian causes around the globe. One black tee reads in white scribble letters: "This shirt feeds starving children." For $20, every shirt sold provides one person with a meal a day for one month.

We Are Overlooked even takes on the uncomfortable topic of child trafficking. A gray shirt has a Dr. Seuss-esque child locked in a cage, with the words, "Because some things were never meant to be caged.
"
The company also features a shirt to raise money for mosquito nets on April 15, World Malaria Day. $5 for each sale will go to Think Humanity www.thinkhumanity.org a nonprofit organization fighting malaria in refugee camps in Africa.

Easter - chicks for orphanage project $5 or $10- "because orphans need hope for the future"
Think Humanity is selling gift cards to raise money for chickens and a chicken house. This is a self-sustainable project to help with operating costs for the orphanage project. A card can sell for $5, where you have purchased two chickens or $10 where you have purchased 4 chickens. Each card has a chicken charm attached. The cards can be personalized or as seen. It's a great idea for your grandchild or child, because many children have plenty of toys and get a lot of candy for Easter, but we should not forget those orphaned children in refugee camps in Africa. What an inexpensive way to make a difference in the world. Contact at 970-667-9335 or bheckel@thinkhumanity.org .

That sounds great, I can also teach you to give shots. I have been doing that for years! :) I'm also great at drawing blood and IV's. I'm just so happy to help.
I'm not sure if there is much diabetes in Africa, but I would be happy to share my knowledge and resources regarding that as well!

I'm so happy you are starting a clinic there...that way, as soon as I'm a nurse (less than 12 months) I can come and help.

Hey! I have access to tons of medical supplies. Would this be of help? It's mainly blood draw kits, needles, etc.
Maybe you know someone who would need them?

Our community has got inspired and having love of TH's work, appreciating and are also ready always to help us. They helped us with cutting and carrying grasses plus trees and poles, except timbers which were gotten far away and had to use transport means of a vehicle and they were too heavy, slashing our land for shed and many other work not mentioned but my understanding is that the community wishes and loves to help and work with TH. I encourage you to get strong so that we can continue to walk in the line of your dream when you visit Kyangwali. Thank you very much. I remain a servant of the people under Think Humanity.
Yours Sincerely, Jimmy Livestock Manager

Uniforms have been purchased for the first 10 children that will live in the COBURWAS Club Orphanage and nursery school. The uniform includes two yellow t-shirts, two shorts and one shirt. The t-shirts have a motto on the back that says “God is the source of knowledge” and on the front is the Coburwas Club “badge” or logo. TH raised funds for these first 10 uniforms, however we still need to raise money for 10 pairs of leather shoes for these children. A pair of shoes are $15 each. We need to raise the total of $150 so that all 10 children can have shoes by February.
The goal for 2009 is to have 40 children at the orphanage/school. Classes will be held in the large main center room with sleeping quarters in the four side rooms. Uniforms and shoes, totaling $30 for each child, will need to raised for the other 30 orphans/students.
(does not include the price of printing the logo and motto) Wereje Benson, TH program manager 1/1/09

Christmas ornaments made out of netting (bulbs wrapped in netting) to represent a mosquito net that you can purchase for a refugee in Africa. The nets will go to refugees arriving into the Kyangwali settlement in western Uganda. They are fleeing for the DR Congo, the most blood-soaked region on earth. A net will provide them protection from malaria. Let's help them start their new lives - malaria free!
$5 each for an ornament or 3 of the smaller ornaments for $10. We can buy a bed net for $5. A gift within a gift.
Thank you, Think Humanity

Think Humanity is selling Christmas tree ornaments to raise money for mosquito nets for the new refugees arriving into Kyangwali Settlement on the border of Uganda and the DR Congo. Did you know that there are hundreds of thousands of people fleeing the DRC because of tribal wars over mineral resources and power? Innocent people are suffering. We can purchase nets for $3-$5 each for these families.

The Goal! 500 nets for Christmas 2008 - $5 each
This Christmas we would also like to have a MaNdate and our goal is to give the gift of nets once again for Christmas in the number of 500 more nets. There were some larger families that did not receive enough nets last summer as well as new families coming into the camp from the N. Kivu area of the DRC.
Let’s continue to give this gift of life to refugees in Africa.
