Hi Ms. Fanatic. Your friend request this morning inspired me to post a new pic album and blog about Silistra. I've read a lot of SciFi since I was very young; I once gave a copy of Dhalgren to a guy just to be mean. Ever been to the Science and Fantasy Society of Los Angeles? They're just around the corner from the North Hollywood Red Line Station; they've been meeting every week since the 1930s. Thanks . . . G.S./Bob.

Please help Walter Koenig, "Chekov from Star Trek TOS", Get His Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! Walter has been nominated for his star and waltersstar.com has raised the money to manufacture and install the star (Thanks!). All Walter needs now is the votes of the Walk of Fame Committee.
Write to the Walk of Fame Committee a polite letter in your own words, why you think Walter should have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. These NEED to be letters from each individual fan in the fan's own words. Not copies, Not form letters, Not chain letters.

For most of us, we would love to see the world live in peace with no war and dying.
However, there is evil here on this planet, I do not understand.
So today is a day we reflect to those who gave their lives to ensure our freedom.
It's so sad for them and their families, and no words can give back what is lost.
I don't agree with the war but I support those involved.

NAILS IN THE FENCE: Make sure you read all the way down to the last sentence. (Most importantly the last sentence) There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence. The first day the boy had driven 37 nails Into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all The nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, "You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. But It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound will still be there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one. Remember that friends are very rare jewels, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share words of praise and they always want to open their hearts to us." It's National Friendship Week. Show your friends how much you care. Send this to everyone you consider a FRIEND, even if it means sending it back to the person who sent it to you! If it comes back to you, you will then know you have a circle of friends. YOU ARE MY FRIEND AND I AM HONORED! Now send this to every friend you have!! And to your family (they need to know that you love them too). Please forgive me if I have ever left a 'hole' in your fence

"By all intents & purposes I shouldn't be here. I should be a forlorn figment of nobody's imagination; the impossible secret dream of my mother's troubled heart. By all outward appearances I should have been swimmin' in the load she swallowed; swirling about in that milky glob that flew in her eye. I should have been the one who always got away. If the devil did care, he would have assigned me to a permanent post in the realm of sweet possibility. But did any of this honkey tonk bullshit happen? Noooooooooooooo. That would have been way too easy for everybody. Instead, by the apparent (miraculous) intervention of unseen forces, what began as an innocuous nipping of the nuggets would become the baddest little bitch that could."
