The Paisley UmbrellaMichael Passman	May 4, 2009 11:47 PM The Asteroid No.4 These Flowers Of Ours The Committee to Keep Music Evil Pittsburgh's The Asteroid No.4 have always occupied space in between '60s folk rock, garage, shoegazer, paisley underground, and full on psychedelic experimentations. One really can't see that's a definite place on the musical spectrum. A better explanation is that they are from space, or at least, went out there long ago and made it their home. On their recent release, These Flowers Of Ours, they've taken their musical tools of the trade and various influences and appear to have let them take on a life of their own. The result is the closest thing one can get to a new genre of rock 'n' roll. The music can be melodic, but the fuzz and feedback can also pierce you at the same time. The album has beautiful cover art and incredible liner notes also. One might initially think to themselves "They don't make albums like this anymore," but truthfully, no one's ever made an album like this.
