In coordination with 350's international day of action, ADITA.ORG releases "C350: MUSIC FOR A MOVEMENT". This compilation consists of a wide variety of artists from around Chicago, the midwest, and beyond. "C350: MUSIC FOR A MOVEMENT" benefits 350.ORG, with promotion of the October 24th day of action, and monetarily with each sale. ADITA.ORG is the digital home of A DAY IN THE AIR, a personal zine written by Bradley Adita. "C350: MUSIC FOR A MOVEMENT" is A Day In The Air #24 and the 4th CD to be released since 2000. Right now, I'm hoping the rain will finally stop for a decent amount of time and we can actually have a summer but I'm not going to hold my breath on that one. Oh well. Anyhow, I picked up the latest issue of Cometbus and with it the Pinhead Gunpowder best of. So this month I'm playing a set of Aaron Cometbus related bands (Pinhead Gunpowder, Astrid Oto, The Blank Fight, Colbom) to soundtrack those cancelled camping trips and rained off hikes. The other bands I'm playing this out are The Ergs!, Criminal Damage, Have Heart, Undertow, No Substance and Spoonboy.

More information and photos will be following. ANY SUPPORT (ground, financial, legal, tactical, equipment/resources, etc.) would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!! ------------------------------------- In the waning hours of Sunday May 18th, dedicated community members in resistance to I-69 set up a defensive encampment high in the trees above the farmland that INDOT and Mitch Daniels consider the future site of the NAFTA Superhighway. Landowners, neighbors, and concerned residents are joining together in a multi-faceted struggle to end the $4 billion debacle that is this road. 450 Indiana families stand to be evicted, and a growing number are committing not to bend over easily to INDOT’s intimidation tactics. Eminent Domain suits, community solidarity networks, public meetings, nature walks and bike rides along the route, barbeques, marches, and demonstrations allow participation in this effort by folks of all commitment levels and time constraints. Nearly 10,000 fertile acres await a fate of asphalt and concrete if we fail to act, but this road is not a done deal, and this first act of physical land defense will not be the last. As long as bulldozers continue to threaten our communities we will do everything we can to stop them.
