We must have at least crossed paths. NoVa is surprisingly small -- I grew up in Vienna and McLean. Started going to Tracks in like 87, as soon as I could get in. A couple of friends ended up DJing there, Todd Krulak and Doug Mitchell. I don't remember when I stopped going. And now it's no longer. They paved Paradise.

I've enjoyed Barcelona's albums not only because I grew up in Northern Virginia with C-64s and the late, lamented Tracks (back in the day, with the volleyball outside and trannies, it was fantastic). It's because the songs are gems.

I'm shocked that some sell-outs with an insipid sound are trying to run away with the name. But take heart: they have achieved and will achieve nothing of the level of art that you have.
